SilacoidSilacoid Member UncommonPosts: 237

The devs have been listening and have extended the trial period to 60 days.  They are changing A LOT of things.

The highlights are:

Search function for Market Wards (essentially a searchable AH)

Inventory Sorting

Map Changes

Teleport costs reduced

More Mobs (including ones requiring partying)

Improved Targeting

Chat changes

Keyboard customization

The link explaining a lot of these and more can be found here:

    - Teleport costs reduced -

This will not happen. Teleportation is not ment to be used as the primary mode of travel. You're only really ment to be able to use it once or twice a day on a regular basis, not more. Most days you shouldn't even be teleporting.

    teleport cost is just right

on average i use 1 tele per day and my anima never dropped below 50

other areas need improvment, UI the most i just hate getting through 100 menus just to change a piece of gear

lag is also a big problem and i hope they will fix it soon (getting frustrated)

Also, being able to alt-tab out of Fullscreen mode without it crashing.

I can't wait for the searchable market wards.  It's a lot better now that they have it broken up into sections, but still takes a long time to find items or mats you need.  Also, if they can fix chat so it doesn't exit chat while you're crafting or switching inventory/actions, that'd be nice.

    Q. Return and Teleport have made travel within Eorzea quick and easy, but it seems like I am always running out of anima. Are there any adjustments being planned?

    A. Yes. The first adjustment, which increased the speed at which anima regenerates, was implemented during a recent maintenance. The second adjustment, planned for the late-November version update, will see a significant reduction in the amount of anima required to teleport or return. To be specific, the cost for Returning will be reduced to 1, and halved for Teleportation to one of up to three "favorite" aetheryte destinations designated by the player.

Yes, I was quiet shocked when I read this earlier today. Seems the care-bears are taking over.

I can go for the whole friends and family discount idea, which is what that looks like to me in that statement. Half cost for 3 favorite locations. The returning cost of 1, not exactly sure what that is there as it doens't cost me anything on a return now.

What its at right now is good though and will be more than enough once other travel forms show up (choco and airship). I dont mind the walk now, but my workdays kill my anima for my weekends. I only get 1 to 2 hours (if that) during my workdays so I use the TP function more. This seriously eats it up fast forcing me to have to walk my weekends to catch up anima for the next workweek. A friends and family 50% off program would help tremendously for me on this issue. Especially from Limsa to Ul'dah (the 20 min ferry ride is fun, but not when you only have a hour to play)

(DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.)

Or they could leave it as it is and force people to communicate and interact. The game is fine sadly the player base do not appreciate what a fantastic game we have here.

Let SE tweak where they see fit .

Wow did someone who's playing FF14 actually have the nerve to call someone else a carebear? Did that term suddenly mean something else along the way? Am I mistaken or is PvP either missing significantly or entirely from this game?

And just to douse future flames, that was not a backhanded insult against those who like this game or PvE, which I happen to enjoy very much (the PvE part, not the ff14 part).

Also why so much bitterness? The game is clearly trying to improve itself, that should be a good thing. Even if you don't play it...actually ESPECIALLY if you don't play it, why bother vying so heavily for its destruction o.o

    I don't understand gamers anymore.

FFXIV is far from a carebear game.  Carebear doesn't mean PvP is missing from teh game, carebear means the game holds your hand the whole way and makes things excessively easy.  FFXIV is far from that.

    I'm a freakin mage...I don't walk !!!

In ffxi I warped/tele everywhere I went...I use the tele feature in IV often...

when I'm out of anima I log off...

It won't be a problem though...I'll quit because of no AH long before lack of anima becomes an issue...hehe

If a man speaks in the woods and there's no woman there to hear him...is he still lying?

That is the point of this thread.  To make you aware that they are making the market wards searchable so it is pretty much the exact same as an AH.

Honestly, after all the terrible decisions by SE on this project, I can honestly say I don't think any of these changes would bring me back to the game. Few times have I actually felt insulted by a game, and this is one of the times. This game was a crap on the face of the MMO community and just needs to go away.

I've already moved on and am anticipating GW2- though FFXIV certainly taught me a valuable lesson: don't preorder mmos.
