Purchase the key online?

ExpatriateExpatriate Member Posts: 202

I prefer buying online and not bothering with the stores, not to mention that it's usually cheaper online.

I've already downloaded the client, and when you run the client it says you can buy the key at the PlayNC site and sends you there, but PlayNC then sends you to retailers for boxed purchase.

Gamer's Loot has the GW key for sale, but it's $55.  Anyone lknow a site that has it cheaper?

Dont know dude, would be sweet that way. Why the hell do yo need the box and pay shipping when you just need a key. Should be cheaper that way.

Weird, a single key costs same much as a game box with a cd, key and with a manual.

EDIT: It's $50 at Play NC and it works.

the box and everything is really cheap to make.  You're paying for the game, not the little stuff inside the box... that's why the price doesn't lower.

Dude the price does lower, play.com is selling it for 34 bucks, but only in europe. Fockers.

I wish I had a eurpean friend, I'd be like hook me up. ::::22::

I should try to convince the company to just email me the key.

OK, thanks for letting us know PlayNC added the online key purchase today--I guess they had to wait for the retail release.

Interesting that Play.com in the UK can offer the boxed version cheaper, as everun1 pointed out.  Anyway, who can wait for delivery--we want instant gratification!!!

you can download the beta client on the guildwars website... if i purchased a key, would the client update me to the retail version, and i could play ?

The online client is probably more up to date then the cd, because the cd is burnt and packaged in advance and the online one is updated on the site.

But I guess we wont know till people start buying keys and using them on the downloaded client.

Yeah, I did it--was able to play immediately.

You download and install the client, then it gives you a key purchase option and opens a browser for you to buy the key.
