is it me or are alot of the concepts and ideas along the same lines as Neocron.. From what I have seen of it so far its very close..
Then again.. it is your typical MMORPG fomula either way..

No, it is not a clone, it is not even similar anyway. The whole gameplay is very diffrent. I like Neocron, although there is SO much to improve by Reakktor!!!!!!

FoM could become a nice game and interesting game...
You must be blind if you say this isn't similar to Neocron. I just downloaded the game so maybe under the surface FoM is different but I logged in it reminded me exactly of Neocron. The apartment, the terminals, the city, the elevators. How can you say it's not even similar. The stupid little elevators are the same except the removed lovely little floating particles, which I think should be there. It feels like they didn't even try and just made an empty elevator shaft. I really wonder how this is legal. The UI is extremely similar too, just Neocron's is green. I'm sure there's a lot more similar than I've found in the first 5 minutes. ITS A RIP OFF. Not to say it can't be better than Neocron or FoM is bad in anyway, I haven't figured it out yet.
Ok then I am not the onlyone that is crazy.

I actually like Neocron's darker atmosphere better. It feels more like a real city. I've only seen Paris (I think that what it is) and it's so boring. There's no garbage and people are just pacing back and forth randomly. At least Neocron has Cop Bot things flying around and gaurding areas. Plus theres garbage, boxes, garbage cans and other junk, not just an empty street. Hopefully, I'll find some other areas of Fom with more personality. If the FoM devs are going for a "cleaner" future, at least have some kind of cleaning bots rolling around, garbage cans or flying robots with some kind of function going around.
Yer but then again neocron has been out for years and FoM is still in beta. It was once nice to enjoy neocrons atomsphere when there was still hope of them fixing the many things that prevented you from doing so, but now its just a mess of outdated, unfixed rubbish.
I've been playing FoM since it went public beta and i am not impressed.
They have some good concepts but you can't build the whole game around just a few features which is what they're doing. Sure its just in beta but the main concepts of the game are in place and won't change now.
Unless they add alot more to the game i wouldn't expect alot of replayablity.

Just to futher add. An example of what i mean is the perma death. When you can buy clones and clone insurance theres no point to it at all. In short a fundamentally flawed feature that should have been sorted out before any work on the game was done.
I once got killed 30 times in a day just so i could collect to murder id cards. Didn't bother me i had clone insurance, or in word words unlimited lives.
If they got rid of clone insurance it would add alot more long term to the game. Alot of people may disagree but then players only think whats good for a game short term.
