But I also hate Nike, Halo1-Reach, Iphone, all for that very same reason. Well you may be stumbled by my logic, but just think about it. All of the most popular products in history also had hatred for similar reasons. It’s an psychological and sociological issue, within the MMORPG community. We play in a genre, which has a history, for bad performance, and major flawed releases. Don’t the you all agree, that it may be time to drop the natural hatred we have for (Too) good MMORPG products like WoW, and began to support such products?

If you hate wow just because its the top MMO then I'm sorry but your pretty immature. I don't like WoW because its repetitive, its predictable and it has done nothing but send MMOs in general in a bad direction.

Every company wants a piece of that WoW goldmine so they try to make WoW clones that are just slightly better to pull people from WoW. Little do they know they are just making the same crap over and over and it fails every time.

YOU don't matter, thats the point. What you think, or feel, isn't important. The only thing that is important in a business is making money, thats my point. They have accomplished what they set out to do, no matter what Joe Schmo and some of his buddies say on an mmorpg forum. Your not impressed? Who cares if your impressed? Its not an argument to defend WoW, its an argument in fact. When you make an MMO, the goal is to have a ton of subs. Guess what? They have a ton of subs. I'm sorry to be the one to introduce you to a capitalist society, but the only thing that matters in this world is the buck. Guess who made the buck?

These developers for the most part make a game to generate revenue. They may love what they do, but in the end, its about making money. Whether you're impressed with something or not is a non-factor. They don't care about you, they care about their figures. There isn't a single MMO out there even worthy to be on the shadow in that respect. Its not an argument of me enjoying WoW, because I don't. Its an argument of fact. Get it?

If they cared about you, they would walk up and say, "Hey, what do you want in our next game?" After that, they would tailor a game to what you enjoy. You know what though? It probably wouldn't make nearly as much money as WoW has, no matter what you tell yourself. The idea is to target the largest demographic, thats the buck. You don't think they understand the market? Fine. Go get out a loan and make your own game, that way all these kids on this message board can make threads about how much you suck.

I am very unclear what your root point is.

just as a side note: no, not all companies are in it to make as much money as possible, some people start a business becuase they believe in what they are doing or because just just want to do what they are doing. All that however is aside, what does matter however is that I have no idea what your root point is.

Well, I don't know how to make it any more clear. I'll try though..

You're young, I'm sure of it. One day, this will all probably make sense to you. Just because your not happy, doesn't mean there aren't other people who are happy.

WoW was not created for you. Whether you like it or not, they dominate this market.

On a message board its not always about getting replies, its about getting a 'message' acrossed. I was trying to contribute to the conversation. I wasn't expecting a response, but was happy to see one.

It may be a cartoon, but its a cartoon more people enjoy than any other MMO. That makes the other MMOs on the market seem pretty bad, which guess what? Every MMO on the market is junk now a days.

I will sit here with the rest of these guys who've been on this message board for 4+ years, hoping that the next MMO released will be a better piece of shit than the last one.

If YOU had experience in other MMO's, you would know that Blizzard IS #1 in MMO development at the moment. WoW might have a bug here and there...but compared to other MMO's, they are pretty much non existent. WoW continues to crank out top notch content and that is what keeps people around. I don't think there will ever be an MMO without the max level boredom. But, at least Blizzard keeps adding new dungeons, events, and tier gear to keep folks occupied.

I used to be a WoW hater, but after trying everything else...I found that nothing else compares to WoW's awesome lore and promise of quality gameplay.

I can understand both emotions but It leads to fustration and isolation.
Community on mmorpg.com is pretty much isolated at the moment.
They are the only ones rating WOW at 81%, while the "rest of the world" has an average rating of 92.5% and consider it top.

Meaning mmorpg.com has lost touch with MMO's and game design in general
And it gets worse with every new MMO published: DF, ST, FF 14 (average rating of 49% on the web), while you STILL see the same hype levels pushed up on this site for these games.
That's not good for this industry.

Or, you could simply not like it? Like a TV program-you love, you hate, you dislike, you like. I know its kind of hard for some people to handle that some people may not have the same tastes they do..

WoW, McDonalds and coca cola are so simillar. Now iam about to tell you a very important thing.

McDonalds are known all around the world, the way they threat the animals is horrible and they should be shot for it. They make commercial worth millions,so millions of people will be attracted of their burgers and it's McDonalds fault so many people are fat and miserable, they ruin peoples life and it's not okay. They don't even use their money for good puposes, have you ever heard of McDonalds giving money to the poor or anything?

Coca cola steal water from poor countries like India, the people there have no water to drink and they die because of it. The water instead goes to rich countries which make cola, fanta and sprite and more. People buy this water including sugar and other unnecesarry shit that make people fat,bad teeth and also these people who buy coca colas products support their ideal of stealing water of poor people so they then can die.

WoW has made a game so millions can play,it has a subscription fee which they make millions of  and as far i know they haven't really gave any of the money to poor or sick people that need it or something else that is very immportant than to buy a brand new car. People stay home and fuck up their lifes, many close to them get hurt and theirselves also get hurt and then after months/years hopefully understand that playing WoW for 16 hours a day was a waste of time.

Not only these companies are doing wrong things they shouldn't absolutely do,but it is one of the most well known.

Overall I would say WoW does a lot of things to a passable level of quality, but it doesn't do anything particularly well. It's a very mediocre game.

What I do hate however, is the people who act like WoW is such an amazing game, and that it's developer, Blizzard, can do no wrong. It just irks me to no end that so many people who have little to no experience in any other MMO, or much of any other PC games in some cases, are so dead set convinced that WoW is the end all be all of MMO gaming.

I think your point is WoW made a lot of money they matched their goal and what the rest of you think of the game doesnt matter. Which makes me wonder why you would want replies at all.

ok well thanks for sharing that with us, its still a cartoon and I personally would never ever consider 'giving it a try' long enough to even know whats good or bad about it.

     And thats ok..

I will sit here with the rest of these guys who've been on this message board for 4+ years, hoping that the next MMO released will be a better piece of shit than the last one.

but none of that matters becuase they make tons of money which was their goal and what people who do not like about the game think doesnt matter.

    correct?

Just for future reference; Its easier to have a written discussion with another person, if they can distinguish what you're trying to write. .

    Re-read what you just wrote.

it was stated to me by either yourself or another poster that what I thought of WoW did not matter becuase wow makes a lot of money which is their stated goal.

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Please do not respond to me

Hate because of success is pretty primal if you ask me.

Sure, you can be annoyed by the fact you want to be unique and this is incompatible with a mass success, I'm sure everybody understands your point.

However, just think twice and realize a success is a...success.

Try to think WHY it is a success, that would be much more constructive.

Edit: I don't like WoW because it gives no choice to the player - certainly not because it is successful.
