I get home and check my e-mail and have a message from turbine, they suspect my account has been access by a third party and banned me. They tell me to try and loggin and run my anti-virus. I follow there instruction and theres nothing wrong other than when i log in it says im banned.Has anyone had this happend to them?
I find it funny they banned me for no reason at all, did they just go on someone gut feeling and said lets banned this one. If they gave me a reason for why they suspect something. That would of been nice. Now i have to wait 3-5 days for them to process what they did in 1 minute.

Never really heard of anyone getting banned for no reason. So.
No, probably what you got was a phishing email and not one from Turbine at all. And when you logged in as it requested, you gave someone else your information so you could be hacked and banned by the real Turbine. If I were you I'ld go to the actual Turbine site, and change your account info before you really do get it banned.

yea same happened to me but i got hacked they ban u to prevent any futher actions with the account, contact support, ill recommend u to call them
I followed the instruction and did go to turbine site and changed my password, then i loged into the game with my new passwrod and its loged me in but instead of picking a server my options were Banned. IDK of a third party who can send me trick e-mail saying im banned and its actualy true, they have that kind of power?
They did no ban you for no reason, it is a standard security procedure in any network environment. If there is a non-standard activity on the account, it will get locked to prevent possible damage.
Just contact them asking to unlock your account.
It sounds to me like you were scammed. I just hope that you opened a NEW browser and hand typed in the Turbine web address, rather than clicking on the "Provided" email link.
The same thing happened to me once with WoW. I would definitely call there support and find out what they hve to say and to be on the safe side if you don;t have one already download spybot and run it daily that should help keep keyloggers and any other malicious spyware out of your comp
Dahboo, this exact same thing happened to me and it is legit. Rather it is legit that Turbine banned you, and not a scam. The reason they do it, is because they think the acct was compromised. Call Turbine customer support over the phone and they will take care of you, thats what I had to do even after following their email instructions.
The 3rd party didn't ban you. At most they could hack your acct and cause Turbine to ban you. The reason people are saying the email is a scam is if Turbine banned you, they wouldn't tell you to "try to login". If you are banned then you can't get in. See what I mean?
The point of the email is to get you to go to a fake site, give them your info, and get a automatic response saying you are banned and that they will get back to you in 3-5 days. That gives the scammers time to use your login info to clean you out while you wait for Turbine to get back to you.
Call Turbine NOW in hopes that you can try to stop this.
Your account was probably hacked. Whom ever hacked it did something suspicious like transferring large amounts of gold or loot. This caught Turbine's eye and they "temporarily" banned the account. Simply call them. Warning though....if anything was taken from your characters, they can only give you gold...no item reimbursement. At least, that's what they did in my case.
I, now, take extra security precautions with the games I play. Every game I play has a different password which I change monthly. I copy/paste all my passwords instead of typing them. I also have the actual sites bookmarked and never follow links from emails. Just some helpful hints....
OMG OP...READ THE ABOVE POST!!!
Dude, I feel bad for you but you got scammed BIG time. CALL them NOW!!!
I had to call them the other day and the guy on the phone was ultra helpful. I converted 3 accounts to VIP this weekend, they sent through two $1 charges to verify it was a legit card (one is normal, glitch caused 2 per account), but that ended up being six $1 charges, then my CC company declined the 7, 8 and 9th attempt for $15 charges. I cleared it up with VISA, called Turbine and my account(s) was back up while I was on the phone.
I agree. I get a ton of these attempts all the time as I keep a lot of MMO's active throughout the year. I can probably copy-paste 50 emails right now in my spam folder that read exactly how you describe. The worst ones are the WoW and I haven't logged into that game in years! LoL That's why I separate all my gaming into a separate email account.

Yeah, I get the WoW ones as well all the time and I've never even so much as went to the WoW home page...never had an account.
Let me offer some advice...
When you get an email asking you to verify your password or log into your account, NEVER EVER EVER enter the correct one 1st. Try whatever you like - User: spamtest1 Pass: didthiswork - If it works, you know it's a phishing attempt.
Thats more than likely what happend. You have to watch out for those. Part of the downside to a game gaining popularity is the unwanted attention from scammers.
People are still clicking on links in emails they did not specifically ask for?
Suckers.
Never follow the links in emails like this. Always go to the site how you normally get to it.
At least they didn't ask you for your credit card info.
