I love Sci-Fi MMORPG's and have always wanted to get in Eve but, buy the time I got a new PC that could run it decently I couldn't find it. Electronic Boutique and Walmart don't have it and the cashiers say they have never heard of it. Is there a reason behind this?
I found it online at Ebay, but I was outbid at the very last second. The only other place that I can find it is on Amazon. So my questions are:
Did they only make limited copies?
Are the patch files huge?
I use dial up way out here in the sticks, so if the patch files are huge, after I obtain the game would I be able to download them from my freinds computer with broadband and save it to a disk? I ran into this problem with SWG and I hope I don't have to download for seemingly endless hours to just find out if I truly love the game or not....
Any feed back at all is appreciated.

CCP hasn't sold a boxed EVE in a while, as far as I know. I did do a search on Amazon, they have a few copies left, I think some third party retailer like that is going to be your only shot at getting a CD.

I would suggest you go to your friends house and download the client from http://www.eve-online.com/download then burn it to a disk. The client should be the latest build. The patches can be downloaded and burned to disk.
The whole eve-online download is around 500mb (extracts to over 1gig) the one file comes with the latest patches installed to it so you wont have to get any patches :P
Also the patches are only about 2-5mb at a time anyways
