Some friends of mine started playing this game and like it. They want me to get it so we can play the game together.
To be honest, it looks a little dorky. Any thoughts from those who have played it?
I understand that there have been some expansions since it's release:
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and something called Claptrap's New Robot Revolution.

Borderlands isnt dorky. Bordelands is awesome, period.
Fun game for a couple of days for me.
Its a fun game..
kind of on the easy side, which the only way to make it harder is by playing through it...which really didnt make it that much harder.
but still fun.
Boderlands is awesome. I have all but the last DLC, the Claptrap one.
I will say that it not that fun playing solo... the game really shines when playing with others.

The game is great fun with a friend or two for about a week. The repetitive nature of the game and the uninteresting classes/skill trees gives it a short lasting appeal at least for me and the friends I played it with
One of the strong points of the game is the humor. The humor is top notch comparable with some of the better point and click adventures out there. What kept be playing was to see what other wacky and hilarious stuff i would come across next. like Dr. Ned and his obsession with popcorn
Great game!
I concur.
Great game, have gotten all the expansions for it enjoyed em all. Last one was little short.
Did not like it at first when trying single player, but with few m8s it was a blast.

I'm sure it's a fun game but I HATE the graphics, which is why I never played the newer prince of persia.
This game is great but gets repetative after a while and the story was pretty dull
Great game.
March on! - Lets Invade Pekopon
I want to thank everyone for your opinions and input.

I just got it a few days ago, since me and my friends saw it being sold cheaply at a 2nd hand store. We also thought it'll be a fun way to pass the time. It's definitely a great co-op game, but I do hate the loot stealing the game promotes.
I picked the Hunter since I love sniping and the Bloodwing is so OP. Can kill 1 of my friend's in 1 hit.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Thank you for your opinions and experiences. I purchased and installed the game a couple of days ago. The first day I did not get to play it much because it was so late in the day, but my friends and I played and I had a great time with them grouping.
We use Ventrilo for voice and that helps a great deal. I have a learning disability, so, just figuring out the controls and use the character was enough for me, no messages have to be typed.
I made a berserker and he does very well in melee, and not too bad with weapons.
I want to make a hunter as well, even though he looks dorky. I wish there had been some real character customization to make them look different. The Siren looks to have some important buffing and elemental casting, at least it sounds elemental in the little manual that came in the box. My problem would be to get over the gender issue, as only a female can be played. I wish the customization permitted letting the player choose which sex to make. I do not have a high pitched voice or boobs as a man ...
Although the graphics are a little odd they can be enhanced with a decent computer. I am having fun so far.
Thank you again everyone.

Its a great game, but i only had fun when i was playing co-op with my friends. Not that solo isn't fun, its just that once you play co-op you wont want to play solo.
Been playing since the big patch yesterday, and, kicking the Claptraps anytime I can.
Haven't played it myself. Still, some friends of mine say that it's a great game, IF you have buddies who also play it. Alone or with random people sucks according to what I heard.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
Yep i used to play BL. Im not really into FPS games but that one was fun. I think with a little more work it could have been a great mmo. would have been nice to have a city/lobby for group making and rp. Also char creation could be better then forcing you to play 1 of 4 pre-made characters.
but all in all its a fun game and if you have a friend or 2 to play with its even better
Kat
is a great game :-)
Awesome Game
Make games you want to play.

After spending a few days playing the game I have found it to be fun. However, tonight a friend told me that at level 40 I start all over again, running through the same quests ... That burst my bubble. I thought there would continue to be more content until level 61 is reached.

I love it. Been playing it through with my gf. I just think of it as a Hack'n'Slash but as an FPS instead of an RPG, which is fine for me. And as others have said, the humor is great. Makes me think of Serious Sam in that they didn't try to take it 100% all super serious, but put more on fun and entertainment.
Solo definitely sucks compared to coop though, and a lot of the game feels very easily, and sometimes the hard stuff just pops out of nowhere. Also like a hack'n'slash I guess ^^ (like mowing down groups of mobs no prob in D2 just to then randomly face some unique lightning mob that came out of nowhere that just rapes everyone x_x)
