i've preeched a release date like this one a few times but for some ungodly reason people keep giving out fictional release dates that they manufacture in their heads...........

nuff said but i will admit i thought it was going to be the end of november but in any event I wish to clear up all these obllivious peoples conceptions.

You taught us a valuable lesson.
Companies unrelated to the developer or publisher often put unofficial release dates on their products.
This is just another example of an fictional release date made up by oblivious people that, according to your post, people should not be paying attention to. Thanks for clearing that up.

your absolutely right they can make a mistake or the game could be pushed back but since this is new info added to the website.....im taking it to the bank because all the "fan-bois" out there dont know what they are talking about, this game has always been slated for an early 2011 release....real early...apparently so early its before new years.
The game is polished so all i can say is prepare for WAR

Hmmmm your link had a date of 1/12/2010,before gamestop changed to their new look the last time I checked on info about GW2 from them sometime earlier in the year or late last year their date was 11/25/2010 so I wouldnt trust anything from gamestop any farther than you could throw the employee that typed it in.
If you've ever pre-ordered a game then you should know that this date is nothing more than a guess-amated placeholding date so they have a hard number to gauge demand for the game with and thus place orders accordingly. This is in no way shape or form a legitimate source for release date info.
If you've ever talk to actual employees or managers for video game stores, instead of relying on google, they would gladly tell you that. But thinking you found a legitimate source backing up your claims for an official (or semi-official (or ballpark guess-amation)) date does no one any good.

LOL sure this guy may be trolling, but I will say it again. Gamestop and Amazon and all those other people did not magically catch wind of something that fans and fansites have no idea about. It is absolutely absurd to think this date is something more than a place holder. It is hilarious troll or not.

Yeah, Anet is going to ship you a copy of the unfished game on january 12 2011 because the gamestop catalogue said that is when the game was coming out. Knee slapper right there.
You are completely wrong. They know nothing more than we do. When everyone finds out they find out. You act like a game dev will say 2 days before release that a game is coming out. In time they will say it and inform retailers and such and coordinate all that.
ok than just keep your eyes peeled for NC trucks driving down the streets by the dozen with game devs wearing bella clavas to know the release date according to you......

That makes no sense and is not what I said at all. I said they(retailers) do not know more than everyone at this point. When Anet/ncsoft decide to announce the release date which will be PLENTY before it actually comes out the retailers will take the appropriate steps to make sure their store gets supplied with as many copys of the game as they need when the release rolls around.
Is that really THAT difficult to understand? Sheesh it is not rocket science. Guess I should not expect too much intelligence out of internet scum.
