I played this game from launch through the first expansion but then quit afterwards. While there is a ton of stuff to do on the way to max level in the end it is a huge cash grab. Basically to have the best gear you have to find runestones with stats on them. All the stones ingame have at least one messed up stat. In the Cash Shop you can buy blank stones where you can take the better stats off the messed up in game stones and make one stone with the best stats. You can only get these stones from the cash shop or (at least when I still played) you could purchase them from the auction house at ridiculous prices. Say you invest the money to have that best gear (a couple hundred bucks most likely), whenever a new expansion comes out they bump up the level cap and now that gear you paid so much cash for is worthless. Not only is the cap higher so there is better base gear available, but they also add improved/higher level runestone stats so everything you had before is basically worthless.
On a pvp server this gear is a essential to winning. On the PvE side your character is gimp compared to anyone that uses the cash shop. While there is some fun to be had with this title you are better off just finding a P2P and subbing up or at least another F2P that is not inherently Pay 2 Win.
