I just want to know what professions are the best and what each professions advantages are
at the mo i want to be a ranger and a magic person but i am not to sure now i know about the powers of a monk

I'll abstain from voting. Every profession has its strengths and weaknesses. It's a matter of picking something that suits your style and learn how to get the most of out of. Between all the dual-classing, and hundreds of skills, you have tremendous options and combinations available. These are only increased exponentially with team builds.
The Obsidian Kings
The Character combinations are totally balanced!
Although some combos are a bit easier to play than others.
R/Me for example is extremely flexible, but also difficult to adjust its skills!
I recommend to try out as much combos in the presearing, and pick the character you like most, then tryy out the skills with a Pvp-only character!
That's how you get the easiest overview on the skills!
