Different items classes

I'm a little confused, can someone tell me what Blue, purple, orange, etc. means on the items.

    It describes what kind of object it is.
    Some items are rare, some can be identified (blue) and then get some special attributes, others are standart items (white) for example!

    It's really nothing complicated!
