Now the game is starting to shape up we can expect to see the remaining bugs squashed over the next week or so.
Now the big question is what's coming next! The latest engine upgrade has paved the way for a wave of new features and old features to be placed into the game.
- Flash UI as now seen in the library
- Higher end PvE mobs as seen here;
- More armour and weapons / buildings
- More crafting professions such as Alchemy / Butchering
- Possiblity for Dev controlled epic mobs
???
What would you like to see in MO in terms of the content.
Disclaimer; Bug fixes are already underway and are proving successful per the last patch. Content does not involve bugs fixing.

Well the youtube vid you linked is an old dev vid. This is not in game?
I have an active sub and its still very beta, will be at least a year till its ready for the masses, if not more.
[Mod Edit]
It's not shaping up just because they managed to pull of one patch that didnt break the game.
I have to agree, the game is financially in the negative now with less and less subs each month. An mmo is unable to stay alive long like that... wish people would actually talk about that than future potential...
yep 99% wont go back to play old game they left, its the way of mmo. U make it the 1st time or never, there is no coming back from the dead.
Yep that happened with me and AOC
I guess we have differing definitions about "shaping up"... as to me a single patch that doesn't break the game doesn;t signify much, but I respect your opinion to feel otherwise.
As for the game itself and what it needs:
Real PvE... not aimless slaughter of the same mobs to gather bodyparts
Real and functional AI so that mobs don't stand there when shot with an arrow
Fully redone hit-detection. The client-side model combined with their interpolation system is a failure. Even TODAY.. after the most recent patch you can be hit by someone who on your screen is 10 feet away and behind you.
Functional territory control system. One that works, but more importantly serves a purpose.
Full redesign of game mechanics so they don't all feed into PvP
A purpose to fight
Functioning guards that walk around town insead of instant spawn Avatar's of Death that come when someone yells GUARDS
Much.. MUCH greater landmass
Functioning ships and naval combat
The ability to clear land and build in NON-predetermined spots.
The ability to customize housing and keeps
Missions (quests) that give a new player a starting goal
A use for 9,999,982 of the possible weapon combinations.. as only a handful are used today.. same for armor.
The long promised spell schools must be implemented
The long promised professions like Alchemy and Cooking... and hey while you are at it finish the promised Fishing stuff...
That's what came off the top of my head... if they can fix all of those content/gameplay issues they will be starting down the correct path. I'm not even mentioning bugs here.. simply stuff that needs to be fixed in the core game.
All time classic MY NEW FAVORITE POST! (Keep laying those bricks)

Now after the last successful client patch, I would like to see those things that Henrik told us about on IRC that they are about to add (after these important bug fixes that have done) ... that is ...
1. more monsters with more rewarding loot (monsters that also solo players can kill). Some more rare spawn with rare drop.
2. another magic school
So, how is the current situation? I promised myself to take a look again after 1 year or so to see what has improved (I only played the free open beta back then). Would you say that it will be worth taking a second look?
If a game survives another year, I too will take a second look.
We about to it the 5 month mark in a couple days. We'll hit the big 1 year mark on June 9th 2011. I hope to see you then...
Never trust a screenshot or a youtube video without a version stamp!
Since SV has been loosing money at least 4 of those 5 months his concern is justifiable.
I win!!! LOL@U
What SV need to do is work on the new player experience and also add social and pve orientated content. MO is supposed to be a sandbox mmo with pvp being one of its features, but currently its to much like a pvp mmo.
heres my list of things needed before mo can consider trying to get new subs.
.tutorial for new players
.fledgling flag for new players.
.Improvements to economy player vendors in towns.
.More PVE content and More Dungeons.
.Some form of communication Over long distance.
.More pickable items (herbs mushrooms etc)
.Alchemy and butchery skill sets.
.Finish off the fishing class
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
Yeah, that would be a nice start. Specially the PvE part. Also it would be cool to see exploring being more rewarding, as in treasures ect.
