My dream would be that GW2 developers would somehow check up on this game and copy the risk/reward aspect and make it their own. (yeah never gonna happen I know)
Excuse my poor writing skills, but I have been wanting to say this for a long time so I'll try and keep it as simple and to the point as possible and I will just point out all the things that made this game fun and exciting!
I'll slip the name of the game in at the end because one look and most will probably stop reading this, lol
There were 2 races, Humans and Orcs, who each had separate zones unaccessable by the opposite faction. Once you reached level 50 you could go to the Colony Zone to PVP. The Colony Zone mobs dropped higher end loot and gave way more experience than mobs in the safe zone. Not to mention in the center of the zone called "the bowl" all the rare mobs would sometimes spawn, so that was the most populated area of the Colony Zone.
Hey your level 50 hurry off to CZ and get your PVP on son...but not so fast! You better go buy National Points from one of the NPC's before you do because if you get pk'ed with no National Points you will lose 5% of your experience (if you get rezzed you get 3% back). You will also lose 5% exp if your killed by any npc in the game so its important to be on your toes at all times. Oh and the most National Points you can buy on the npc is 500. When you kill an enemy player in CZ you get 50 of his NP (less if your in a party) and half the money they have on their person when you killed them. So yeah, make sure you bank your coin before going to CZ. There is also no limit to the amount of NP you can gain in PVP and they post all the high NP holders up on the main site.
The was also a game within the game called the magic anvil. This was the second best and worst part of the game for me. It is literally just like gambling. When gear drops off mobs it a +1 level. You can upgrade this on the Magic Anvil to a higher level. The higher you upgrade it the more chance of it breaking and you lose that piece forever. Gear could also be used and resold, there was no bound gear in this game.
A couple times a week there were wars in yet another zone where orc players battled human players. The objective was to kill some special npc's which would allow them access to the opposite race's safe zone for 3 or 4 hours! If you were luckey enough to win the war and enter their safe zone any player you kill will grant NP even if they done have any, and they don't drop their coin either since they aren't voluntarily entering into pvp.
There was also a weekly castle siege war where a clan who is the owner of the castle will have to hold up the fort while enemy players use siege weapons to try and break down their defenses and take over the castle. You can even ally with a clan of the opposite race to hold the castle with you and share the benefits of collecting taxes together. We held the castle for a long time and were allied with a human clan back when I played. During the castle siege war there was no national points exchanged when killing other players.
It's the most fun I have ever had in any MMO. I quit this game because of a corrupt GM named Arestides. At the time he was the number 1 gold seller in-game and on Ebay. Invisible GM characters could kill boss mobs that would take a group of 10 players atleast 10 min to kill in maybe 15 hits. Our clan Eternal Knights were the first ones to bring his actions to light when a couple of us caught him killing Troll King. We saw TK taking damage but no player there. So one of our members PM'ed Arestides and it just so happend he answered back and said he was killing it because "it was bugged". Shortly there after members of EK were losing items... getting banned, crap like that. I finally logged in one day and all my coin was gone. I finally said screw it and sold my priest n ebay for 500$ and never looked back.
Right now the KNIGHT ONLINE community is terrible and the game is full of cheaters, which the game company dosen't do anything about. Its a real shame because the PVP is exciting with lots of risk and reward.
Here is a video of us zerging the human town in CZ. There are towers that try and keep enemy players out. They focus on the first person in so its easy to get someone to tank the towers. We were the most hated clan in the game at the time. I took the video and are just spamming full party heals... the guy that died ran out range and got XP'ed by the towers, lol

Clad that game in Mortal's graphics and we have a winner
Lol, Knight Online. I remember that game. I actually had fun in it, too, before all the Turks took over.
I didn't think it was really anything amazing, though. It was inbetween RuneScape and DAoC for me, and I only played it for a month or two.
I think there is also a entire forum for turks only. Also I think I read on a forum somewhere there is also an english speaking server only as well.
I tried it way back when it came out, was one of the first of the wave of free MMO's if I recall. I was really unimpressed by it back then. I had no idea that there was any PvP at the end game though. That same item upgrade system is in a lot of those games which isn't surprising as the same engine was a used a lot.

i hope they copy daoc pvp in every single detail
I have played the game for years since Xigenon server opened. The game had awesome PvP options. Only one zone with higher XP and DROP rates allowed the open RvR pvp. You cant imagine how crowded was that zone if you never played the game. The combat system also depended on a skill of player. There was no clicking like in WoW, you had to cut the skill animations by single attack if you wanted your combo to be perfectly fast and win a fight. You also had to use potions each time it was off cd and think about which one to use (mp/hp). I agree with the OP, that game was the best pvp game I have ever played, I quitted because of poor company care, alot of hacks/duped items/babashop and they added alot of the glowing stuff and shiny china armors, grrr.
