How large ships can a player own?

From what I can read about the game there seems to be only small, fighter craft that are player controlled. But I have not found any definitive answer to this.
So is this game only fighter crafts or can you own a battle ship?

I grabbed this from the everything we know about BP on the official forums

My gut tells me we won't be able to fly capital ships as the time index referenced seems you are controlling a turret on a capital ship for an epic storyline mission.
From what i have read so far and seen on their site is that you can fly a fighter type ship with the possiablity of upgrading to more powerful weapon systems.
I saw in an interview that they are talking about adding Ambulation in ships after release. So im sure this will probley be something they add in the future.
