Solo

in Guild Wars

A few friends and I were thinking of playing this game. We were wondering if it's any good solo though - due to work etc sometimes it's not possible to get a group together and other games eq/coh etc just aren't fun if you can't get a group together for higher levels.

    well it kinda depends...if u want to solo as in only urself and nothing helping u,it could be a bit hard,as monsters tend to come in groups...but they have a group of npc ""henchmen" in each public zone(zones where u can see ppl outside of ur group)such as a warrior henchman or a healer henchman.u can recruit these into ur group to help u in ur solo expedition,but it will be as though u have other players and u will get less exp and money for kills..but u do get all item drops

    soloing will be easy as u get higher in lvl and better skills and stuff

     

    for instance, i can solo (like alone, no hench) the borthern wall at lvl 8

    The biggest difficulty in going totally solo (i.e. no npc's) is doing enough damage over time to kill the bosses that self-heal. And I'd like to see someone solo the Wilds mission....IMO that mission is practically impossible to solo even with henchmen - as soon as you run into the centaurs you drop like flies (especially with the npc healers seemingly stupider than beta).

    PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

    Actualy i soloed the wilds last beta with elem/necro lvl 15 and henchmans... it's doable

    I found it harder in release than beta, as I said, the npc healers seem pretty dumb (and don't have as many skills as they used to have in beta). But then again I'm an E/Mo, perhaps a close combat setup would be more appropriate (with the ebil maguma warriors). A player group can get through it easily.
