Being a player having supported FF series for long ,and recently heard the news that the CEO claims that FFXIV is more likely to be changed into F2P. Will FFXIV go to F2P mode? haizzzzzzzz.

While many people know I don't like FFXIV and frequent this board often... where has the CEO said that he's moving it to F2P? I've read that he's admitted that they have made a lot of mistakes and that they have to regain their playerbases trust back. Where is there hinting of moving to a F2P model?

I haven't heard any such rumors either.
However, I think it'd be foolish for them to so quickly convert to free to play. It would require even more development time to switch over to free to play when they desperately need to be fixing the current problems with the game.
Though, I would find it interesting if it did. It'd lend more evidence to the theory that only failing games and mediocre games use the free to play model.
I'd expand that to F2P with a B2P Cash Shop, there are a few F2P that are much better than the rest of the crowd.

They could rake in the cash if they sold a new UI and a anti-lag potion in the cash shop
Anti-lag potions would then go mainstream and we'd have a whole 'nother crisis on our hands!

from the link,we can see the CEO's claimations has the attention to make this game F2P and with item-charges only.I l also doubt about this , being a FF series player, how much I support final fantasy game, although FFXIV is a failure but F2P mode mean what..... I cant imagine at all.

I always subscribe to the notion that there are usually exceptions in any discussion.
FFXIV will commit seppuku before it goes F2P.
F2P would be a constant reminder to SE of their failure, while killing the game would allow them to pretend it never happened and would eventually be ignored and/or forgotten.

What you're reading is the writers theories on where "item charges" could be placed. The CEO himself was actually talking about Dragon Quest.

Killing the game would provide them a #1 in something, at least.

Heheh.
Thing is, killing the game really is the fiancially sound thing to do ( although it wouldn't be the best thing fort their short-term PR).
If they were to kill the game now, or in the next few months ( like say, when they notice dead servers come the end of the free period ), they would take a major financial hit in so far as they lose what they put into the games' development.
However, they have major games coming up including FFXIII VS., Deus Ex 3, and Dungeon Siege 3 plus other titles that together could put them back in the black even if it means just breaking even.
So the question is, what do the suits ultimately want?
Try to fix the game and gamble on winning back enough people to be profitable.
or
Kill the game and minimize their losses while insuring their long-term survival.

Trolling. Time to close the thread.
Nowhere in the link did they say the game will be going F2P...or that they are thinking about it.
March on! - Lets Invade Pekopon
SE needs to fix all the issues with the game before even thniking of F2P, some people seems to think that F2P is just amagic button to psuh and you will make alot of money when infact it takes alot of effort and money to make the transistion, and if your game is still shit people wont want to play it anyway. (not saying that FF14 is shit since I havent played it)
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
Did you jsut read OP and then post? you would have seen further down that we proved that the 'source' was merely the writer of soem article hypothesising if it did happen and is infact all make believe...
Just like trolling....
