I'm pretty excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops -- excited enough that I'll be attending a midnight launch tonight and staying up way later than I should to dig into the game. However, sometimes excitement over a game launch goes a bit too far. Take for example a group of robbers in Bel Air, Maryland, who stole more than 100 copies of the much-anticipated game this weekend.
The Baltimore Sun explains how at least two men armed with semi-automatic guns entered a Harford County GameStop just as it was about to close on Saturday night. The men stole four cases full of copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops -- totaling over 100 copies of the game -- as well as cash and some hardware. Two customers who entered the store mid-robbery were forced into a storage area in the store at gunpoint.
This is the second GameStop robbery in the area in the last few weeks, and authorities think the same men may have been responsible. The sheriff's office asked residents in the area to call and inform them about anyone nearby who has a copy of Black Ops before its launch official launch tomorrow.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in this incident. it's unclear if the thieves were looking to sell all of the copies of Black Ops for profit or are planning to play it themselves as well, but assuming the latter, I'm glad most gamers are a good measure more patient.

It is Baltimore...that place is basically run by criminals. I am surprised that people pay for anything there and everyone does not just steal it from each other.
That's probably some 2 gamers who could't wait to play new CoD so they decidet to take it by the force, with some additional hardware in case ther graphic cards cant support game on high graphic settings

I guess they took the previous games too seriously?
There's a pun just waiting to spawn from this article.
He who keeps his cool best wins.
Hah
In the mid 90s, I was installing car electronics for my friends small company in the Flint area.
Sometimes it was new equipment, but others times used. We used to joke that we were installing the same basic 5 stereos into cars, as they kept getting ripped out of others vehicles.
You always had to wonder when the wires were cut too close to the unit, so basically splicing new ones on was an impossibility.
The OP though is why I am cautious when I go to pick up pre-orders at night.
Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.
Oh my goodness I guess this is free publicity for the game. It is so good they needed to rob the store to get a copy.
Another article for right wing fools to drool over yay
Mess with the best, Die like the rest
IS this how left wings will spread the wealth?
How about both of ya take the political chit to another forum. Ya know, one where that is OK material.
Not trying to come off here, but this is an important topic for gamers safety.
Gamestop should be providing an armed guard for midnight releases. In all cities that is....not just Baltimore.

While I totally agree that this isn't the place for politics they are thinking on the same lines as myself on this matter. When I first read the OP the first thought to go through my mind was how long it will take some nut job to take this isolated incedent and pervert it into all games turn people into gun toting criminals. You know it will happen.
