CU Mathematics and Jedi

Thought I would point out the lack of planning of this CU and show why it should have been tested and fixed before the release to paying players. It will take a normal player more than 7 years to become a Jedi under the current system. If this was thought out - such oversights would have been dealt with.

And before you flame about - how we should be patient and that they will fix it - that was my point in a different light. We PAY them to patiently develop and fix the game. They ignored every bit of strategic sense and killed alpha team, released the CU from a lip service beta and expect us to be pay them for us to be patient and let them fix thier mess. They have proven that they can maintain 5 test servers at any given time - they should be still testing the CU. We should not be playing it.

Lastly, I do not have a jedi. I don't powergame. Hell, I have a master ranger so don't even go there about uber gaming or patience for fixes. I write and point out so that SOE will take notice and fix the game instead of deleting posts on their forums, ignoring emails and rerouting phone calls.

    heh, but they made it more realistic, did you saw any grown Jedi in the movies becoming a Jedi in 3 months? hell no! Yoda didnt want to accept Anakin nor Luke as Jedi because they were too old (Anakin was about 6 years old and Luke was about 20 or so)
    and this will surely end the Jedi wars on the servers :)

    I've read a theory, I believe it was on the official forum, that the customers are being used and something about an evil genius in soe in that they can use the players to test the cu by them complaining about it and improving the game, clearly they don't think the test center is sufficient. There is little worry for them in losing customers as in the following weeks people will be inadvertently helping in improving the game by complaining, thus making the game supposedly better and they figure that they will gain enough customers following the star wars movie to improve on their profit. I'm not sure whether this is exactly the case but it certainly sounds plausible and I'm sure that SOE have the money to suffice for a small lull in consumer activity.

    Hehe, agree on one thing. Jedi in mass don't fit into timeline that they game claims to be running on. With many people trying to be one, they should bump up the time frame to after the battle over Endor. Though this new expansion pack goes retro on the game which in some ways makes it a hodge podge mess of past, present and future.

    It is the end of the casual Jedi player though. See ebay for details.

    Personally, making the CU a server selection would be nice. Couple that with your choice of era and all would be well. Yeah, I know its not feasible but hey a guy can dream.  Just look at the marketing director and his ideas on taking advantage of a certain movie release. Apparently, there is enough left in that pipe to pass around.

    I think even the CU lovers will agree that there is something very wrong with how jedi has been thought out and everyone else will agree that it is a major disappointment to lose what the game was. image

    Jedi should be near impossible to get.IMO there should be a handful on each server at most.

    Jedi should be really powerful at the Knight level, however Bounty Hunters at Master level, should be able to take Knights down using good strategy.  If you remember Jango took one with pistols in just a couple of shots.  With the new CU, it's a little harder for me to level my Jedi, but my MBH / Mpistoleer is a fighting machine.. SWG needs to tweak the CU, it's not working as it should, but i'm sure it will be ironed out.

    Sounds about right u never saw 100 jedi on the films running away from bounty hunters lol,they should also make it so they r much stronger then most other ppl on the films...1 hit=person dies,in game i doubt it is like that lol.
