the CEO just doesnt GET it. FFXIV is innovative and revolutionary. /sarc
Seriously how can anyone defend FFXIV when even the Devs and CEO of the company clearly sees how disappointing the game is?
I know I'm being trolled, but....just for the sake off adding some constructive criticism to the thread.
FFXIV IS innovative in a lot of ways, and they're trying some things that other companies simply are too afraid to (doubly so now given FFXIV's reception). The problem is that they're overshadowed by a plethora of bad design decisions and implementations.
Everyone here has probably read about FFXIV's class system. It's a nice change of pace from the class-centric design that's been thrown at us repeatedly. Best of all, it offers you the chance to build your own custom class. Sure, there are going to be min-maxers who make the Optimal Build for everything. But we can still enjoy our own quirky creations.
Problem: Grindy gameplay steals its thunder.
FFXIV's battle system is a step in the right direction. No auto-attacks, just ability-based rounds that are reminiscent of actual Final Fantasy games. In many ways it's the inverse of DDO's system. Although it's slower paced, it's very much an action oriented combat system.
Problem: Clunky controls steals its thunder.
I honestly believe that guildleves are a very viable system. No more playing spot the quest giver whenever you go to a new town. No more trying to sync quests with your guildies. Just form a party with your friends, go to town and have everyone pick up a batch of leves, and start knocking them down. It has the potential to be a really accessible system that promotes grouping.
Problem: There's a criminally small amount of leves, and they have zero variation within types.
The crafting system is one of my favorite parts of the game. Though I'm still figuring it out, it reminds me in many ways of EQ2's crafting system, which is my favorite. It has quite a bit of depth, unlike many games which just tack it on as an afterthought. Also, I being able to set up my own store.
Problem: Excessively long animations and menu lag make crafting a chore.
I don't think anyone will deny that the game has a massive amount of problems, but I wish people would admit that at least they're trying something different instead of giving us EQ/WOW clone #283281102398.
Oh, I've never said they haven't tried anything different. The problem is, they try to "remix" things that work just fine just to be different.
The point of doing things differently is supposed to be to improve upon the original concept. So far, instead of improving, SE has devolved the original concepts.
-Letting Derek Smart work on your game is like letting Osama bin Laden work in the White House. Something will burn.- -And on the 8th day, man created God.-
That's a weak attempt by some to moderate a thread they don't like.
As usual, baseless speculation. I'm not surprised at all, it seems to be rampant here and some people make a hobby of it.
A sad hobby, true, but a hobby still.
Baseless speculation is different than speculation. Baseless would imply there is no evidence to base it from. There is plenty of evidence to merit "speculation" in all of my threads and posts most of which are supported with actual pictures. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you get to tell people it doesn't exist.
" I don't like your proof so I say it doesn't exist" LoL How many times have we read that in these forums? Plenty.
That is your opinion not actual reality. The reality is there is plenty of proof for meaningful speculation and some people just can't handle it. Simple as that.
Roses and rainbows are less offensive than reality to a lot of people that dropped money on a tanking product.

How many Developers does SE have as a company ? And will they have enough time to fix the issues prior to March ?
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
I don't necessarily feel the need to point out that they are different and the trend is still downward but wth... rainbows and roses if they must I suppose.
>>>>> Anyways, A lot of my posts here are a warning to people about the game and it's effect on our genre. I support the bancott of FF14 and intend to counter PR spin by the SE bots whenever possible for as long as the game is still threatening the genre and future development trends of our games. I don't expect people who have unconditional faith in the company to understand those kinds of motivations.
Many like me are tired of the treatment we have been subjected to over the years and are in a position now in our lives that we can make the effort to help ourselves out of this situation instead of blindly buying up whatever the developers hand out to us to consume.
There was a nice story written up here on this site which suggested boycotts as a feasable way to make a change in our games and it was well thought out and made a lot of sense.
FF14 is a disgrace and a waste of money to thousands of people and those people deserve the right to tell other people about the game and the shady company motivations behind it.
This is not limited to MMORPG.com. On other sites all over the world the same information is being distributed and discussed by the MMO community at large. There is no harm in having the information and distributing it, people just complain because the majority of it is incriminating to the company they want to hold faith in.

First of all agree on the opinion of taus.
To the question it is a general thing and even not pointed at you. It is the point when by persons a grudge or in the opposite a crush can develope in a real kind of posession about a certain thing. In worsest cases it leads people to forget of their normal live tasks in really worse cases even to forget their family, because tehy are on an important mission. Hard to describe this without sounding unwanting agressive or a bit like a troll. It can be that strong that people even see and realize topics only selective and sort of blend out or ignore all things that oppose their view. Like put them on ignore or just avoid question that can contradict ther own burning crusade.
Yes the same can count for the so called fanboy as well but the passion behind is a bit different. I hope it sounds not to confuseing. And of course I mean no person in general for this, it is just something people should consider something. Than again what I say not really helps by a person that is like that what I say, because tehy would eitehr see it as an agressive attack against their 'important cursade' and all that not see the obvious are generally evil.

By your sad logic DCUO will smash everything because it too is available on the PC/PS3, and if rumour holds true, is a far better game than FF14 will ever be.

No way man lol...got pushed back because they scared to take the launch hit while the big FF is here. they need a mature console belt to last. They gotta learn the ropes to develop a game just like SE has been doing which is drop your game an over time the game will dominate. Playstation loves SE an the dev teams for the ps3 are strong. They just watching SE thats why they had to wait. To try to top SE at the console you can't watch the champ..... cant get your feet wet, you have to dive in. Right now SE is taking hits from all over like a tank, but we still have HP left to finish the raid while the SOE group is still trying to level up then prob rage quit because they ain't even specced right.
If anything, the PS3 release "might" save FFXIV, it will not be a "smashing hit". Although the Final Fantasy franchise is loved by many, most MMO gamers use a computer, not a PS3. If anything, many who are already playing will buy the PS3 release again hoping the controls will be better there. The PS3 release is the only chance to turn this game around, but for FFXIV to be a hit, it's already far too late.
Well as a closed beta tester i could see this comeing i joined the closed beta late on and my first major critcisim was the way in which game supposedly patched which in my case was the torrent method which was the only way i got to get in game and avoid a costly mistake of buying this half assed product.
Then we have the UI up till very late on and close to launch SE decided oh yeah let's give the testers a proper hardware mouse and not a system that had the dynamic feedback of a dead slug!,also why have a UI that was console based in the first place to me this was a big reason why so many testers gave up the beta test but i can name many more.
Next the macro system what the hell where they thinking a AAA title should have some hot swapping as standard hard coded,in the end i was making macro's more than testing and as the UI is abysmal it was about as fun as pulling teeth as even useing a 360 pad did not help, also retainers what fun to search every toon for one item who needs a nice AH no way to sensible
Guild leve's when the timer was announced and all the business about restricted gameplay and major forced grouping was met with derision in beta forums, maybe just maybe SE may have got an inkling that the great unwashed where not happy bunnies and as stated there were so few quests and 30mins per quest was crazy u get cut off,or even lose the quest area u needed to wait for the timer to reset quests if u had used your alloted amount.
This is Final Fantasy i played on the PSX,,PC,emulated PS2 and like many was filled with wonder at the creaivity and interaction with your characters and the sheer amount and love that those games Devs spent on gameing legends. FF14 in comprison is stale and completely isolates your toon as there is no ongoing story apart from the main quest which play like mini instances good as they are i was yearning for side quests and Npc interaction of old,but none of that once again this was pointed out in CB forums time and time again so good luck SE with AAA stuff around the corner Mr Wada and CO are gonna need it.

man those controls people complaining about getting patched in this an next month before ps3 even lands or gets near. i play with mouse an keyboard like a champ anyhow. lots of people like to mash buttons an press TAB TAB TAB hoping that the target cycles and lands on what they want 1st go. I click right on the mob fast an not everyone does this. We have hotbars, target clicks, and macros all at once to think about. I think SE knows the deal but people just so impatient an wanna rush in the battle with no buffs. To be able to hit the mobs we 1st gotta pull out the weapons an focus on a plan "what we all want" (not just 1 persons opinion -no leyroys). We can't be buffing in battle we have to plan it out so the ride is smoother an mages don't get aggro lol. this is why I think SE was examining the market wards for 1st month. They had it planned what they were gonna do but making sure people use them correctly, not just slam in some AH that can be worked an exploited, they learned that from last game what that does in the long fight. People just wanna be able to 'search' in one aspect in the big picture but all the taxing an inflation can be dealt with by not globalizing the economy with 1 store. multiple ward searching...not static but static in its own sense -thats why now search will come but now still have a safe environment. All the feedback just really helps. more people complain just lets them adjust what they are already making to use everything in line. Like a weaponskill chain from 11. hell, take that for example. We have a faster game now. Skill-chains are already been working on. If you just slam them in you get what you get. taking them out is like removing a lot of framework. they could possible speed things up or slow things down because if you notice when you start battle regiment it is slowed down to the group team. 15 people with diff speed weapons an cooldowns is ALL adjustments. Abilities are being worked out with regiments at the same time so speed is right or else why skillchain if the mobs already dead? its all timing as I see it. game is getting just what it needed, feedback....
Maybe it's because you have yet to show proof. None of your posts had any facts. All opinions and speculations.
SE is Dying? Pure speculation you got no facts.
Stock prices on a 10 year low? They are not on a 10 year low, that is a fact. Here is a fact:
TODAY LOW
¥1,575
52 WEEK LOW
¥1,558
The game is Beta. Pure trolling, game is released. You say it is Beta, i say i can play fine.
SE raping it's customers? Well, yeah sure.
Wada saying we beta test the PS3 version? No he did not.
Show me your proof for the above points. Please. Until then you are noyhing but a troll bad mouthing a game you don't even play!
I understand you may be upset to see people criticize a game you are currently playing (and soon paying for) but because YOU like the game and play it fine doesn't mean the game's fine, heck thousands still play it, thousands still play games like runescape, there's always going to be people able to put up with horrible ideas/designs.
Currently there are not many great games out there so of course many players still play the game but how long for? Subs are coming and so are new games, there is no denying that the playerbase will shrink ever more.
Of course the CEO isn't going to say he released a beta state game, duh, that would be bad business, now on the other hand the way they did it is a good way to get fools in giving them funds they need to have another go at a cleaner release (the PS3's). Anyone with a bit of understanding how projects/deadlines work involving investors/budgets can clearly see that FFXIV just ran out of time and were faced in making a rash decision to release as scheduled.
Please understand that, there might be people on these boards over-voicing their opinions, pro-actively criticizing any changes the game receive, but at the end of the day these are people that DID play the game and more often than not, they have played longer than the usual defenders on these boards, people, who just like you (and me), were blindly expecting SE to deliver a quality game as they usually would do and purchased a collector's edition, played for a couple of weeks and then just couldn't accept the state the game was sold for.
The majority of posters here wanted to see FFXIV be a major success, a game they had been waiting for, I personally have been really hurt, beeing a fervant fan of FF series, this was my big hope in the current sorry state of the gaming industry.
Criticizism is a good thing, you may see it as "trolling" or "hating", but I think you (and anyone defending FFXIV) wear rose tinted glasses and convinced yourself that the game's fine so that you wouldn't feel bad for investing time and money, heck even I did for a few weeks but eventually the glasses had to go.
Critics and complaints are different than "trolling/hating", they are a form to express a dissatisfaction, enough complaints may result in a company realizing their mistakes and make changes to improve said game, defending bad designs doesn't improve a game in any way shape of form but only make them think it is an okay thing to do and may reproduce the same designs for future projects and also impact on other companies as those see that they can get away doing exactly the same.
YOU might be fine with the way games are released lately, but for the majority of gamers we want to see improvements and the best way to do this is voting with our wallets, complaining on forums might be not the best solution but it does help a little by spreading dissatisfaction slowly. FFXIV's getting a few improvements, why do you think? Because people complained! Sadly this isn't quite enough but let me tell you, if they did make a huge improvement by march you might see poeple like choujiofkono eating their own words playing the game again but until then we've got the right to believe said coming improvements are just empty promises.
In conclusion, I really wanted FFXIV to be the game it deserved to be, like most of posters here, I am really bored of all the games out there, games made 5+ years ago are still more fun.
Sadly I would rather play solitaire on my new PC than waste my time on FFIXV, to each their own.
Nowhere did Wada say we are playing a beta test for the PS3 version. Thread title is missleading and wrong stating false facts.
Time to close another duplicate thread.
I'm not sure how much more clearly he had to state it to satisfy you.
He blatantly admitted that bugs were missed and gameplay issues weren't given adequate attention.. that their testing was "too rigid" (whatever that means). He's pretty much stating, "yes, I agree, we did not do sufficient testing with FFXIV before releasing it on the PC".
He then states that they are working on fixing those issues - which were not given adequate attention (and many of which were called out) during beta.
He acknowledges that they have to work to regain the players' trust. Even *Wada* gets what you clearly don't, taus.
He then states that they hope to have the game in ideal shape for its "rebirth" on PS3. You can replace "rebirth" with "relaunch".
A person has to be pretty damn willfully ignorant, or intellectually dishonest to not see what's going on here.
Essentially, Wada's hoping for a second chance to make a first impression. The current players'/payers' money is helping to fund the effort. In other words, current players are paying to beta test the PS3 launch, for which SE hopes to have all the game's current issues ironed out.
They released an un-ready product that was - by the CEO's own say so - not adequately tested. The money they are getting from box sales and subs (once they're activated) is going toward making those fixes and corrections Wada is discussing.
So, yes, paying players are paying to beta test the game for the PS3 launch. After all, whose feedback is it that SE's going to work with to decide if things are improved or not? The PS3 players who haven't bought or played it yet?
As far as your statement, "Nowhere did Wada say we are playing a beta test for the PS3 version."
Are you even being half-way serious with that argument? Hell, even 1/8th serious? 1/16th?
Do you *really* expect someone - especially from a huge comapny like SE, whose game is already taking as much heat as FFXIV is - is seriously going to come out and say "Yes, for the coming months, we will be using our paying customers as beta testers for the PS3 launch"? Seriously? Are you *seriously* making that argument?
Wada comes closer to admitting it than even he probably realizes. Of course, those already determined to defend the game no matter what are gonna spin it for all its worth anyway.

Nah, I think it's more like... "Hey guy's... FFXIV isn't doing to good, maybe we should hold off and polish things up a bit more. I'd hate to be in SE's shoes if we can avoid it. Lets push it back ok?"
I mean thats the only reason for SOE to take FFXIV into consideration, DCUO has nada to do with FFXIV. Different genre different player base and a completely different style of game.
Regardless i have no idea what this has to do w/ ffxiv.
My thoughts exactly. The stock trends really don't play much of a role here, in regards to FF XIV. What does have an effect on FF XIV would be the appaling sales, where the game only sold about 630,000 units worldwide, in September. And keep in mind Final Fantasy is a huge IP and recently we've seen big PC only titles like Civ 5 and Starcraft 2 selling millions of units during their respective launch week. Even if FF XIV has reached the 1 million mark by now or will reach it soon, there's no denying that the majority of players are so dissatisfied with the game that they are no longer playing it during their free trial.
OT: There's no denying here that the PS3 launch will help revitalize the game and boost the sales a little, but I don't think the PS3 release (in March or May) wil be a "smashing hit" like wizyear2099 says. The majority of MMO players play MMOs on the PC, as they should and the console gamer (me being one of them) would rather not pay a monthly fee just to play a game. Especially one as unintuitive as FF XIV. I don't care what people say the patches will fix, the UI will always remain a menu riddled mess, which is a serious negative to the majority of console gamers (heck & even PC gamers).
Also I love how wizyear2099 says "this game will prob smash every game that will come out next year". That seriously made me LOL. I mean I really doubt FF XIV could even retain 50% of it's current playerbase (once the subs kick in), let alone beat such games like: Rift, DC Universe Online, Star Wars: TOR and Guild Wars 2 (the most hyped MMO in the entire MMO community combined).
GW was pretty legendary when it first hit toppling current giants at that time
GW 2 and the things it's going to have in it...hooboy get ready for the MMORPG Revolution folks
No more Turns No more waiting No more !s and ?s No more killing 10 rats then going and killing 20 more for rat tails and killing 30 more again for rat whiskers
So many companies are trying to be the forerunners for the revolution but I am inclined to think GW 2 will lead the way for MMORPGs of the 21st Century.

Indeed.
I was in full-on geek mode about FFXIV going back to when it was still "Project Rapture". When they announced it, I'm pretty sure my friends (who have no interest in FFXI, or in FFXIV) got sick of hearing me talk about it every time SE released some new info or new screenshots.
I was even one of the more avid defenders in Beta, convinced that - while I saw the "lack of content" others complained about - that SE was truly holding back most of it (upwards of 80% according to Tanaka in some interviews) and that with launch we would see a very different, much fuller game.
I read, studied and reviewed every bit of news about every system they revealed.
I pre-ordered FFXIV CE the day I learned pre-orders were available.
You could argue I was pretty much fan-boy about it. I have no problem admitting that.
The difference is... I didn't let my hopes and excitement about the game get in the way of the reality of the state the game released in.
The reality was, FFXIV at launch was barely improved over how it was in Beta. There was no huge patch that corrected or improved the issues that were present in the game throughout Alpha and Beta; things that I and many others addressed in numerous threads.
The wonky design choices they made remained. From something as unintuitive as being able to /sit, but having to use a menu option to stand up again, instead of simply move or type /stand... to things as ack-basswards as the completely ill-conceived Market Wards, which run completely counter to what SE claimed they were trying to achieve by using such a system in the first place. Issues like limited, repetitive content that was further restricted by arbitrary limits (fatigue system, lock-outs on leves, etc).
At that point, within a few days of launch it was clear to me that if there was indeed 80% more content in the game than in Beta... that it was just more of the same and nothing of substance.
That's the reality of the situation. That's what players and reviewers alike have experienced and noticed and commented on in their reviews and discussions of the game.
I *did* want FFXIV to be the game I hoped it would be. After playing FFXI for 7+ years and considering it - still to this day - my all-time favorite MMO, I could only imagine what kind of amazing stuff SE was going to come up with for their second effort... with all they learned from XI, with better tech... with creating a MMO with PC support in mind from the start, rather than as a game originally designed for PS2 and ported over later on, etc.
To say that I was monumentally disappointed in what was delivered is putting it mildly.
That said...
Do I hope they can turn it around? Absolutely. Do I hope they fix what needs fixing and "remember" what it was that they did right in XI (not necessarily in terms of repeating, but at least learning from it) and turn FFXIV into the epic experience I'd hoped and imagined it would be? Definitely.
However, it's not that game right now and clearly has a long way to go before it gets to be the game it should have been on release. Even Wada acknowedges this.

And that's the problem... FF XIV could have easily avoided all this mess by delaying the release. Just recently APB crashed and burned; mostly because there were a lot of gamebreaking issues (aimbots) but mainly because they wasted so much time & money on stuff they could have added later on like: the last.fm car radio system and the music editor. Then came the time when they literally were running out of money and were forced to release their unfinished game and hope for the best, or go bankrupt. So they released their game, only about 20,000 were playing it and we all no what happened after that.
Now Square Enix must've have known what had happened to Realtime Worlds, but unlike Realtime Worlds, SE wasn't & isn't close to bankruptcy. This means they could have delayed the PC release but why didn't they...? It's purely because they wanna help fund for the development of their PS3 release. Not the best of ideas, since now SE have even further tarnished their own reputation, leaving a chance for SOE to easily capitalize and release DC Universe Online in a more finished state. So it's good that SOE have delayed DCUO. It just means that they won't have the same launch problems that FF XIV has had. Let's not forget that Action RPGs are becoming more and more popular than Turn-Based RPGs on the console.
Nowhere did Wada say we are playing a beta test for the PS3 version. Thread title is missleading and wrong stating false facts.

Mike,
i think it is pretty clear that the original title of the thread was sensationalist, immature and a lie. Thats why it is now changed to the reality.
I think we both can also agree that he never said it's a beta. Thats just a fact. You can spin this any way you want and thats fine. He still did not say it.

Feel free to ignore what you wish and only reply to what fits your fancy world you live in but anyhow...
If I sold a big pile of poo (beta) and just redecorated it to look like a nice tasty cake (release) and said : "this is a cake, not the best one but still a cake really", others would have a bite and say "EWW wtf is this, this is poo !" while you happily just eat it whole and ask for more because I said it was a cake and you like cakes don't you?
Btw, your avatar fits you really well, those glasses are awsome, does it make your character in FFXIV shoots hearts at the baddies?
I think we both can also agree that he never said it's a beta. Thats just a fact. You can spin this any way you want and thats fine. He still did not say it.
You are pretty much grasping at straws by pissing around with semantics.
The dwindling legion of Square Enix apologists may not want to (or even be able to) accept that FFIV is currently a beta build masquerading as a product worthy of being released for retail sale. And try as they might, Sqaure Enix is going to be wasting a lot of time and resources trying to get the game to the point that it should have been at launch. Instead of looking forward, they are going to be looking back at the things they should have done during beta (instead of brushing aside the testers) and working out how to implement them without causing more distress and instability for what remains of their player base.
Call it spin, but Square Enix sold us a poorly tested, under developed, product (that should have never been launched) and everything that they do now is a pitiful attempt to try and save face while they try and fix the game for the impending PS3 launch. So for all intents and purposes, you are all playing a paid beta test, filling the role of guinea pigs while Square Enix gets the game to a point where it can be deemed launch worthy for the console crowd as it became very clear in the closed beta and beyond that the PC launch didn't really count for much until it turned around and bit Sqaure Enix on the ass. I for one hope that PS3 users are wise enough to stay clear from this game.
Wada did not come out and say that PC users are paying to beta test the game for the PS3, but it is obvious this is essentially the situation. I played this game during beta and briefly using a buddy key and it felt half-assed and gimpy. The supposed "innovation" felt more like ass backwards game play systems and mechanics designed to makle things unneccessarily complicated and boring. Frankly, I've had more fun with crossword puzzle books...and MMO's are one of my two favorite game genres, just not this game. Enough ranting about the game though hehe.
Honestly, I don't think the PS3 version is going to save the game from being yet another failed MMO that hangs on with a bare minimum of subs. The PS3 version will have to sell better than the PC version and I don't see that happening. Also, AFTER the initial sales the subscription numbers have to hold past the free month and I will be surpised if people aren't bailing once the free month is up. the PS3 version will save the game? Unlikely, it will probably at least help it cling to the ass hairs of the MMO market and limp along like so many other MMO's of late.

Oh, I've never said they haven't tried anything different. The problem is, they try to "remix" things that work just fine just to be different.
The point of doing things differently is supposed to be to improve upon the original concept. So far, instead of improving, SE has devolved the original concepts.

I think PETA is a good example for this.
What is it that you don't understand about the fact that the game is in a beta state? The subs are going to start for the PC before the "fixes" and these fixes are just air right now. Not to mention the box payments that have already been paid to pay for the supposed development of said fixes. The whole thing is shady as hell. PC gamers have been raped for their money already and are looking forward to paying subs to get the PS3 version made without the same bugs. Pretty clear to me.
You don't have to leap very far to say these "fixes" if they actually will exist, are going to be part of the PS3 release (if it does actually release).
Noone is making "noise" about facts that are easily verified with the CEO's one words. *facepalm
*roses and rainbows till the end LoL
No facts says that we aren't paying to beta test because he never said that out of his mouth...this game will prob smash every game that will come out next year..why? because its a mmorpg on PS3 and the PC. It will bring even more sales to the PC more marketing etc. double launch effect for people who say they don't wanna play on their pc. play on the Ps3 then. I have a nice crew coming to my linkshell ps3 version. We are making a awesome launch for ps3 if thats the case... round 2 fight!
By your sad logic DCUO will smash everything because it too is available on the PC/PS3, and if rumour holds true, is a far better game than FF14 will ever be.

I mean thats the only reason for SOE to take FFXIV into consideration, DCUO has nada to do with FFXIV. Different genre different player base and a completely different style of game.

After playing FFXI for 7+ years and considering it - still to this day - my all-time favorite MMO, I could only imagine what kind of amazing stuff SE was going to come up with for their second effort... with all they learned from XI, with better tech... with creating a MMO with PC support in mind from the start, rather than as a game originally designed for PS2 and ported over later on, etc.

and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
Mike,
i think it is pretty clear that the original title of the thread was sensationalist, immature and a lie. Thats why it is now changed to the reality.
I think we both can also agree that he never said it's a beta. Thats just a fact. You can spin this any way you want and thats fine. He still did not say it.
FICTION: "Wada says FF14 is a Beta test for the PS3 release in March 2011"
FACT: (see his speech)
Since we now have established what fact and fiction is, let's move on and enjoy the game, or in your case any game you currently play.
If you feel uncomfortable with me pointing this out, then i am sorry that i have offended you. I did not mean to, honestly.
Respectfully,

Feel free to ignore what you wish and only reply to what fits your fancy world you live in but anyhow...
If I sold a big pile of poo (beta) and just redecorated it to look like a nice tasty cake (release) and said : "this is a cake, not the best one but still a cake really", others would have a bite and say "EWW wtf is this, this is poo !" while you happily just eat it whole and ask for more because I said it was a cake and you like cakes don't you?
Btw, your avatar fits you really well, those glasses are awsome, does it make your character in FFXIV shoots hearts at the baddies?
