In the craziness that was the recent trip to Sony Online Entertainment, MMORPG.com's Drew Wood did have the opportunity, taking time out from playing the game, to sit down for a bit of a question-and-answer period with Wes Yanagi, Senior Producer on DC Universe Online. Enjoy!
MMORPG.com: It's relatively robust as it is, but is there any talk to, obviously down the line, expanding the mentors, the movement types, the power types...
Wes Yangai: A lot of things we've been talking about. Right now, it's all still kind of pie in the sky because, obviously, we haven't launched yet. Don't want to get too ahead of ourselves with that and distract everybody into working on other things. But yeah, we've talked about that, we've had questions. I mean, a lot of people ask us, can I be a Green Lantern, where are light powers in the game, and sort of things like that, we want to make sure that if we do that sort of thing that we can really sit down and sort of think them through as best as possible. r

We can't be Green Lanterns. Okay, I guess. I heard we can't be like SUPERMAN. Is that true?
I'm pretty sure you can be like super man. He is one of the mentor choices after al.

The more I hear about it the more I want to play. I think the best part so far has been that the game is story driven and not just some hop in and smash stuff kind of game. It sounds cool so far.
This just sounds awsome
omg, i can't wait to be sick of this game and dry-hump, salivating for the next shiny object way off in the distant horizon.
Looking Good!
I have to agree with others, not long ago I had zero interest in thsi game but recent news has me very seriously considering it now.
From what I have been reading, you can't exactly be like Superman or any other superhero. YOu can get close but never BE. For example there are only 6 choices of powers to start with and then you can branh out to match your superhero's powers but you will never be the same. As a mentor, however, you can get an iconic armor from them that gives you certain boosts but that is about it. In otherwords, once you have the armor, you can look like them have some of their powers, but never actualy BE superman in a sense that you wont have all his powers.
At least with a sub game they know that people won't tolerate bullshit and leave. With anet we have no recourse but to buy our own lube so our assholes don't get too stretched out from getting bent over a table at Anets will. - Hrimnir
Aside from the dreadfully shortsighted limit to three body types, I am still stoked for this game. Was hoping Darksied would be a mentor mind, Apokolips is too cool a place to not have in game ^^
Anyone else notice that Wes Yanagi is an anagram for "Yes I a wang"?
