Either way, it is unfortunate the IP may never see the light of day.

Very sad indeed. Stargate imo, is the best scifi IP every made. And they keep getting better and better now with SG:U. Iwas looking extreemly foreward to playing an SG MMO. Oh well maybe MgM can find a good developer like Bathesda, Rocksar, or the many other devs whome may be willing to take on an SG MMO project.

totally agree. SG-U sucks bigtime compared to the other 2 shows.

Funny, it's the first time I've been able to consistently watch a Stargate show without feeling insulted.

SG-1 had a way of being hilarious. That was about it.

I still have a few sceenshots during the beta (alpha v2.0?). I guess that is all I will ever see again. They are mostly of the graphical anomolies I encountered while using an ATI graphics card.

I'm not really a big fan of anything but the first movie, but still, it has a decent fanbase... doesn't it?

Dean Devlin would agree with you.

It used to but SG:U and the fact SG:W failed and SG:R is Stargate Themed Unreal Tournament kinda killed alot of the fanbase.

Does not look like this game will make it, sadly as there really is a lot of source material that can be adapted to an MMO, and probably some unique game play elements.

As for SG:U sucking, i thought it would to, but its a very good show in its own right. Problem is people ignored everything that was said about the show by creators, who upfront said it would NOT be like the other Stargate series' and then started bashing it because it was different.  My props to the two creators for wanting to try something new, rather then spend their entire career turning out the exact same stuff.  And its nothing like BSG...mainly because BSG tries to through some outrageous plot twist in every 15 minutes and the characters all seem to have these ultra dark sides that show more then the good in them, while SG:U does a good job of blending character development, drama and traditional stargate nerdyness we love.  And the Warcraft quote from the end of season one was classic.

I had the opportunity of playing Stargate Worlds when it was out for stress testing and i got to dial the stargate and everything which was pretty cool.  Only thing was at the time is that the game was still needing lots of work as it was still in Alpha stage.  Even though the show has been out for a while i really think that if they were able to rease just a bit of something to the game and work on getting more content that it would at least bring some revinue back in but they would have to be on top of it quick as the hardcore people will find a way to max it out.
