I need someone (or everyone) to give me some links to good spyware/adware (anything that alters your computer in any shape or form that is different from it's intended state) removing programs. Free only please...I'm cheap...and poor. So that makes for it gots to be free.
But I'd really appreciate it if everyone could post their input/links to get rid of this dastardly internet disease.

go to microsoft.com and download their anti-spyware, it is pretty good.
I cannot more highly recommend "ad aware" which you can download from download.com. It costs nothing is always being updated.
also, keep in mind that there are some spyware that are so strong you cannot delete them without whiping your harddrive completley clean.
So if all else fails, back up your important, unaffected data and do a wipe
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
If you download and run 'Ad-Aware' and 'Spybot:Search&Destroy', you should have no trouble with adware or spyware ! ! !
I think they are both available on CNet's download.com ( and both are freeware ) . . .
Gbear
i find that "PestPatrol" is A LOT better than adaware, i've used adaware in the past and someone recommend me pestpatrol and ive never used adaware ever again. it's really good!
Banzai!
Ok..I use...Sygate Personal Firewall, AVG, Spyware Guard and Spybot- Search and Destroy.
I think all those are free, just Google them.
norton antivirus, Spybot - search and destroy ( http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ ), Ad-Aware ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ ), and hardware firewall/router (35euros), and finally Firefox browser ( http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/central.html )....
thats my setup... did a great job for the last year :08
and its mostly free its not 100% as nothing really is, and i really dislike anything signed microsoft as it usualy has more holes then swiss chees and smells worse then 10day old gym sox :
check the web, google the names and you should get a good setup in no time...
There was an article out on the web (I'll need to search for it) where they did a comparison of the various spy ware utilities available and Spybot: Search and Destroy ranked #1 for detection and removal of spyware against all of the other ones out there. Appantly they took a PC and installed a spyware removal software, loaded the thing up with known spyware and ran the program, noted results, wiped the system and repeated for the next spyware removal program.
I'll see if I can locate that article.
