Some things which threw me off War - anything changed now?

- Rinse repeat RVR and Scenarios.

- Open world as plastic as a lego battlefield. In DAOC you could run in small groups, solo, you could be spread out and just fight across the frontier. In War it just feels like kill/die/respawn, none of it has any significance, just all rinse repeat with a plastic open world.

- DAOC had relics, so there was an 'end goal' in the game for your 'side'. In WAR, you may eventually cap your enemies city, but what's the point? It will eventually reset for more rinse repeat action.

- Despite fairly serious graphics, a lot cartoon animations.

- Almost complete focus on group play and group play only.

So, has anything changed since I last gave WAR a shot? Thanks to anyone in advance who takes  the time to answer.

Well, with the new 1.4 patch they will change the RvR mechanic and try to spread the Zerg, so you could try after it come online(18 november).

Now we have a new zone(lotd) that switch from factions during the day, it's full of PQ and istances, when lotd switch you can remain with a small group and attack the enemy during they're PQ.

So, wait the 19 november ad use the reenlisted trial to try it ;)

They made RVR more worth doing since when I first played a few months after release.  As for SCs, I LIKE the fact that they are instant 10-15 minutes of fun on demand.

Not sure what you mean by plastic world.  As I said, RVR is more rewarding nowadays though.

Great loot to make you an uber killer, pretty much.

Graphics haven't changed to my knowledge.

Again, what you see as a negative I see as a positive.  I still consider it pretty cool that they pretty much balanced group pvp and were able to do things like make tanks viable in PVP.  The game is built around group pvp, which is cool because it's an online game right?

RVR is worth doing, like I said.  Balance is way better than release.  Performance seems better for me.  On Badlands the population is strong.  Basically, it's the same game only tweeked in a lot of ways to be better and more fun.
