I've been playing WoW on/off since launch and not once has my account been hacked. I think this "omg chinese hackers" might relate more to crappy passwords than Blizzard or any other game company. It's a quite simple thing to learn from this, but I guess it's always easier to blame someone else than yourself. Also clicking pretty much ANY email you recieve in any address you might have is stupid. Why the heck would you open an email with a topic of "hi", while the sender is completely unknown to you. All of this is very common, but users always blame whatever company is named for their problems. Quite frankly, that line of thought is complete rubbish and thank god at least some of internet users have understood this.

If you're gonna set your password as "jimmy", "biatch", or what ever in the hell you can think of, yeah, it's very possible you might get hacked.

It's understandable to do this mistake once, if you're a complete newb to how internet works, however if you have even some slight understanding, you'd probably add CAPITAL LETTERS, numbers and even question marks and such to your password.

You don't need any of these anti-hacking utilities offered, unless you truly can't remember anything you can think of (like a proper password).

Also, why click on any single email concerning WoW or anything any other game company offers? It's not like you can't learn of these things from other places. Seriously, if you are careful at what you do in the internet, you'll be just fine. However, if you're a complete dingus, then yeah, you might run into problems.

Or pay $7 for an authenticator, use Chrome cause it's faster and download your addons from a site like WoWinterface which is a little more player friendly, imho.

    Played in some form:
UO til tram, AC, EQ, AO, WW2O, PS, SB, CoH, AC2, Hor, LoTRO, DDO, AoC, Aion, CO, STO
    Playing: WoW (for gf), WAR
    Waiting For: SWTOR, FFXVI
Hoping For: DCUO, Secret World, Earthrise
    -S- (UO Sonoma)

Sorry getting hacked nowadays is so common , people security are leaky and most people dont even uptodate there caches and everything .

You can blaim a lot but atleast Blizzard is trying to solve things , cause honestly half the people computer are a freaking mess .

And no google chrome fire fox whatever wont prevent them from hacking you .

dont believe those kind of myths all information are hackable all sites vunerable , if they can´t get to you , they will get to your isp , who usually have a lower grade protection .

So look i hate it when people boost they are untouchable cause as long you use the net , you are vunerable .

But there is a other diifficulty a lot of wow players are not some IT specialist , and the funniest thing are usually the IT specialist are the ones getting hacked the first , cause of too much adon downloads .

Now get a authenticator , but if you want to be 100% not to get hacked on your wow account , make a wow computer that only has wow . and a uptodate antivirus and firewall .

Dont give any information about pass word and account  to anybody , know your own IP adress you are playing from .

Disable the peer to peer interface especially for downloading or uploading data . sure patch takes a lot longer .

But atleast you wont get file corruptions and trojans from illegal peer to peer packages .

And keep reseting your modem once in a while for a new IP addy . (dont worry you location wont change just your number will )

I bet you half these tips are bothersome for wow addicts , so offcourse they keep getting hacked ..
