LF grinding game

Squirrelz248Squirrelz248 Member Posts: 45

Hey guys, I'm looking for a game that is pretty grindy. Not only should it be grindy, but has heavy emphasis on party play.

I miss the old days of Lineage 2 where you would sit in a dungeon with a group of friends and smack away at mobs for hours. I really enjoyed the party aspect of Lineage 2, where party dynamics (class make ups) made your group great or suck.

I recently started playing this free MMO called Rohan: Blood Feud and it has exactly what I wanted; it was grindy, had a cool forging system that is so god damn frustrating, yet rewarding at the same time. Best of all, it had a stat distribution system that really matters. I'm still playing Rohan, but would like a game that has better graphics and better interface, pretty much a refreshed newer Rohan / Lineage 2 style gameplay.

To sum it all up, I'm looking for a grindy, stat distribution, party emphasized, game.

PS. I REALLY HATE QUEST GRINDING, so please avoid mention games that rely on quests to level, (runes of magic and other games that have you do 20000 quests). I love rocking mob's shoes 24/7.

Final Fantasy 11 or 14 (if you want to risk playing a game going through a lot of changes) or Aion.

Has it changed that much? I played it right at launch. Not the most grindy thing  in the world, but def much more xp grinding than questing.

I've tried Final Fantsy 11 and 14 before. Do not like the slow paced combat in those games. I actually have Aion, but something about the game doesn't seem to promote party leveling as much as I'd like. I would also prefer if the game had a stat distribution system like Ragnarok Online or Rohan.

Maybe I should move to Korea so I don't end up with "westernized" ports of Korean games. I'm really looking forward to games like Tera and Blade and Soul. The latter won't be here anytime soon, as for the former, I feel that it will be westernized so much I won't enjoy it. I feel this whole "westernization" thing doesn't fit my style. I am completely down for Korean style play, party emphasis, grinding vs the whole soloing deal in a big ol' MMO.

Might want to try  Perfect World just for the hell of it.  It's free, and then you can see if you like the style for the upcoming "Forsaken World" that is being developed by the same company.

oh and if you do, the dreamweaver server seems to be the most populated.

I might suggest Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst. Its pretty fun and pretty grindy, and the community isn't too bad. It might take a little bit to get used to. But an oldy and goody is Diablo 2. That's about as grindy as they come, but can be a ton of fun.

Thats all I got for you

I might just have to give Perfect World a try. I never gave it a chance, because I heard it was just a WoW clone ie. quest grinding so I didn't bother. Since so many of you are recommending it to me, I'll check it out. Thanks!

Well one thing thats great about Perfect World is that you can buy the gold that you use for the F2P item shop off of other players with coins you make off of mobs and loot and such.  So in essence you can grind your ass off to get some of the things you need in the item shop and don't have to pay a dime to play.   I got three characters going right now and I just started, it has really surprised me how they don't hand you the levels to play catch up with all the big boys which I really enjoy.  I hate when mmorpgs make all their old content obsolete by making shortcut questlines and lvling you up every 10 mobs.  Definitly not happening here with the large amount of levels.

  • Why not play Lineage II again? Soon, there will be a huge expansion, updating the fighting system, a graphic update and a lot more.

If you like anime style mmo, Iris Online is a great game. You can have all the skills if you grind long enough. Open Beta is coming out Nov 24th.

Perfect World is a no go. Just didn't get a good feel from the game. I guess I'm really just out of options until those flashy new games come out. I actually already tried Iris Online closed beta. Didn't really like that either. Keep 'em coming if you guys have any other suggestions for games I should check out.

Try Darkfall. You do not have to grind because getting a maxxed character is not the point like it is in other games but there is enough to grind to keep you busy for years. Nobody in the game has everything maxxed yet but that is probably because you do not need to have everything and there are so many spells that there aren't enough to hotkey/hotbar them all.

    RF online  - http://www.playrf.com/index.asp

it's a RvR, PvP, Pve style game very grindy came out about the same time as Linage2, has some of the best designed armour I've seen in any game of it's type, with some of them being designed by some of japans top manga artists, very hardcore as well, it's also free to play, ( don't let this put you off, this game was one of the first AAA tital games to go F2p )

to me Rf online and Linage II were my first two mmorpg's, to me one took care of the fantasy side while the other was my Sci-fi game, luved playing both them, one of my mates still plays today, he's one of the race leaders for the Cora,( high elves types) but I always prefered to play Accretia,( big robots types) and some times the bellato race,( haflings with mechs)

    Hope this helps.
