I like the game

I find this game pretty funny. I have the first russian artillery and it's quite fun to destroy enemy tanks with the artillery special vision (press Shift when you are mounted on a SPG and look for the circle of dots, otherwise you'll enter in the sniper mode [it's useful too, but less])

I'm not good with other tanks but i use them when the battle of my SPG has not ended yet. It's hard to get a nice shot on movement, and other people can shoot me quite well with or without auto-aim

    i just applied to beta

  • username509username509 Member CommonPosts: 635

I got accepted into beta and I can tell you that YES it is a fun game.

You can't call this game an MMO just like you can't call MW2 an MMO.  I don't see them adding any real MMO features anytime soon, but does that really matter?  It's a fun tank shooter game.  Who cares?

Never trust a screenshot or a youtube video without a version stamp!

I have to agree, I haven't had this much fun in a long time. The second day I logged on to open beta I had a large amount of gold (what you'll have to purchase once the game goes live). They want you to experience the game and test larger tanks. Some limitations at beta are: limited # of maps, random groupings (team play will help enormously), limited auction system (yes, you can sell your old tanks/ modules/ ammo to olther players but currently the game is set to buy them from you). There will be Squad (clan, guild) map control after it goes live. It's not perfect ( occasional lag spikes/ rubber banding) but if you have a system that can handle the graphics maxed it look real good. Remember it's beta!!!

    If you can get a key, join beta...it doesn't cost a dime....what a concept!

they will be adding in clan warfare sometime during beta, which will have battles for persistent territory control.

im likeing this game  just grinding now to get  next tanks after VK 3001  and VK3601  all so made a  acount on the ru server.  the  servers seem to be working very well .   balence seems to be working  not much lag  even with 37k players on line

Now I find this game something that I will never pay to play.  The Clan war combat against other small groups of players seems even more incredibly waste of time.  A game for small groups to capture small maps against other small groups is not an MMOPRG.

But they want valid posts about games here not just editted fanboi glitter like in the Dev forums where mods delete or ban people that offere a counter view to spending money on the game.

We will see when it costs money how the monontony will gather wool.

I do find it quite ecstatic to blow up my enemies with my 8.8cm L/71 gun, and see their burned hulks lying around the small green dells of this game.

Also the feeling of having a 750 hp engine pushing my 60 tons of gray painted steel over the landscape and the occasional hamlets. That is certainly a rather good feeling.

Do you also find it estactic that you see your prey repair its blown tracks magically in 20 seconds while under fire?  You did not know they had achieve magic repair status?   Do you find it magically delicious when an enemy tank with magic binoculars and special secret camo cloaking devices spots you beyond your range putting you on a overhead radar map so that artillery units can one shot kill you?  Maybe you love being one shot killed by a tank that you are matched with that is 5 tiers above you in hit point and your weapons can do nothing to even take his track off?  I am sure it is the hit point box style damage model that makes you life so much fun because you can penatrate a tank three or four times but not deliver enough damage points from the random generator and they just heal turn and shoot you back?  There is of course the fact that you have a target in clear view and he stops and suddenly they dissappear from view...

what is up with that ?you say.  Yet he moves and suddenly you can see him again.

I've played the beta for about a month and sadly I just can't get into. I love all sorts of games; from first person shooters, to role playing games to even real-time stratergies and I'm usually good at all kinds of games. Which is why I found World of Tanks frustrating to play, because of how bad I am at it. Even when the game's not lagging I found getting a kill to be more of a trial and error process and even as a got better and better tier tanks I'd still find myself getting one-shotted (2 shots if my lucky) by bloody arty.

So yeah... I basically rage quitted, deleted the game, never to return again. Not saying that World of Tanks is a bad game... It's just not for me. Now I'm back to playing much easier games like Starcraft 2 and Super Street Fighter 4. ^_^

Angriff you realy have some beef with this game hu?

This is no tank simulator and if you know the little funny videos they have brought out you would know they aim for arcade like FUN tank battles. And thats it!

So why youre on such a silly crusade against this realy entertaining game? They stole your cookie?

The game is fun, it runs smooth most of the time, the tank classes and tiers play  very different, there is something like a rock, paper scissor system and with a little more tweaking the balance should also be fine.

Matchmaking has improved so you dont face tier 9 tanks when you are in a tier 3 so offen anymore.

All in all a neat little free game for quick fun.

We got it you dont like it, why dont you step away from the desktop get some fresh air and stop flaming this game

for things it aint want to be in the first place? merci & malzeit
