One of the worst, if not the worst, EVE Online trailers I have ever seen...
What's so bad about it? It shows the marvels of ice mining and superturds all in one trailer!
Not so much bad, Bat as just not up to their usual standards. Remember the video for the new graphics engine update? Thats one of my personal favorites.

Nothing in particular, I guess. It is a matter of personal taste only and this one does not fit mine.
If I still had to somehow elaborate... I would say that in all other trailers, the content was about players. Any ship you could see in the video could be you on your daily routine in this large massive player driven world.
This trailer is different though. It is from NPC perspective. It does not tell a story of the world I am a part of and 'live' in. It is a world of some very angry bold head NPC.
If the video was more focused on actual players fighting the Sansha instead of a monologue of some NPC stranger, it might fit much better the game, imo.
Well, PVE part of EVE is the weakest so making a PVE focused a video from NPC perspective...

I think thats the point, CCP are doing a lot of work to improve the pve in Eve. With this expansion and previous expansions that had Epic arcs, sleeper AI, changes to agents and mission UI, loyalty point stores.
Also I think the idea of showing a character from their story in this trailer is probably showing off their character models technology they've been working on. I cant fault it! Looks awesome.

I am not denying the logic and obvious intentions they had with the trailer but the result for me is...meh...
Sansha nation isn't anything that whole EVE population will be fighting such as are new bosses introduced with expansions of other linear type games. It just does not fit in and does not deserve nor justify a trailer made that way.
Simply shifting the perspective from: We invade your space! to more suiting: We are being invaded! is all.
I agree with gdemami on this one, although i think it's good, i don't think it's as good as their previous trailers. Kind of a let down when we've seen trailers like the dominion trailer, or apocrypha .... or quantum rise..... This one just doesnt have that eve player feel to it. Now if they made a trailer about pilots getting together to go to one of these incursions and attack the sansha, or fend off a sansha attack (and possibly fail) i think it woulda been much better.
EDIT: also i guess this confirms the sansha's interest in Hulkageddon.

hehe, actually it does fit in if you follow the story's behind Eve. The chronicles, the books.. there is tons of in-game stuff too... you probably dont realise it. There has already been many live events surrounding the sansha.
CCP tell us that the seeds of this story were planted in eve years ago.. but there is a ton of stuff that we have yet to discover. Its all linked.. remember that mysterious 'star of the north' its all linked I beleivem, the Jovians, the worm holes, k-space.. the sleepers.
We dont have all the peices yet, probably only about 30% but the background story of Eve is very deep and intricate, but you do have to make an effort to follow it.
The trailer is admitadly short, its more like a teaser, a starter, but it does wet the appetite and sparks the imagination.. for me anyway!
I'm kinda disappointed that the dripping sarcasm of my comment got lost over the medium.
The trailer is extremely mediocre. Even more disappointing since we know what trailers CCP is capable of doing.
Made worse by the fact that the expansion itself, at least the main content, is horrible. One more supercap added to the cancer that is sucking all enjoyment out of 0.0 and another pve system stacked on top of several different other mechanics that are left to rot.
CCP seems to be going to a new Quantum Rise, but I'm not convinced that the follow up expansion will raise my quantum like Apocrypha did.
Having said that, there's some change for the good that obviously didn't affect the development pipeline for the main features yet and a bunch of frequently requested fixes that will be the real stars of the expansion. Who cares for more pve when you can have better rockets, a fb nerf, ui improvements, graphics engine improvements, the small fixes. They should've been in the trailer, not the useless "main" features.
its good because it has a main bad guy as its focus.
its something you wouldnt expect from a CCP trailer.
it kinda reminds me of all the Blizzard trailers. Part of me feels it doesnt belong in a sandbox game but another part eats it up because im in pve mode right now.
But CCP tell us that the stats show that only about 20 or 30% of the eve population actually does pvp and that 0.0 is, for the most part empty!
I find it extremly odd that, even while knowing Eve is weak on Pve and that it desperatly needs improving, people are slagging CCP off for doing something which the majority of their customers have been demanding for years :S
MMO's need new customers new players, so working on the Pve in Eve makes sense. If that means losing a few elitist pvp'ers, fine, they'll be placed by new players.

I like the trailer, its a bit teasy but does show more human face than any previous trailer. Oh and that guys jacket is awesome!
I cant wait to try these incursions.

Or the Causality video.

Well its only a mini expansion isnt it. and one which they are deploying over several smaller patches.
I'd rather know that they were working on Incarna than spending all their time making films.
