20$ to get the game updated up to WOTLK.  That's a great deal.

i'm actually surprised they still make you pay for the Vanilla and BC, they should be free by now.

How about if i just buy 1by1 and then get 4x60 days? is it possible? or am i only allowed to buy them at once?

  • AzorithAzorith Member UncommonPosts: 188

buy each box and add the key when you get to the level, they should each have a 30 day sub.

I believe the full game is on the Wrath expansion. So, you only need to purchase that one =)

  • WhitesparksWhitesparks Member CommonPosts: 33

dont you need the other key's or can you jsut get that wrath game and not get the others? lol that doesn't make any sense if you can get away with that

Actually, that is incorrect.  While most other companies do that, Blizzard still requires you to purchase the base game and each previous expansion.  That is why it is a great deal right now to get the base game, burning crusade, and wrath for $20 all together.

Expansions do not include 30 free days, but you can claim a 10-day trial for the next expansion you don't have though if you purchase them separately in the Battle.net management page.

This is true.  This promo is about as "bundly" as WoW gets.  You need every prior expansion to get the latest.

Does anyone know how long the deal lasts ?

You need the account keys to access those portions of the games, but you can install the entire game from the latest expansion (currently Lich King, soon to be Cataclysm) so that you have less patching to do. Also, you do not need to 'install' every expansion, you just need to add the keys to your account.

Lost my mind, now trying to lose yours...

Adding "keys" IS buying the expansion....wow

The base game comes with 30 days free time.  The expansions require the base game and do not come with any free game time.

The best you will get is 30 days free for spending $20 to get everything up to and including wrath of the lich king.   You could then buy the next expansion for $40, but that will not have 30 days free time either.

Expansions to existing games normally do not come with additional game time unless there is some special promotion.

The point is that you get key and 30 free days only by buying WoW Vanilla, after this, all exspansions don't have free days, they only give you new content. So of you wish to play in Outland, or with BloodElfs and Dreanais, you'll need tBC, if you wish to play in Northrend and with DK class, you'll need WotLK. Also, every expansion is cappet by level, Vanilla only 60, tBC 70 and WotLK 80.

One good thing is, you can create trial account, after this, buy this special offer for 20$ and you'll get full game (without comming Cataclism) and 40 days of play time. Every month after this is 12.95.

    Cheers...

Honestly its a good deal since vanialla wow includes 30 days game time , so that 5 for 30 days .

The wotlk being 10 cause its the last expansion , but basically paying 20 for them all is a steal

Well you still need cataclysme , on 7th of december to play worgen and goblins.

But other then that its ok to just buy them and keep the code for adding later.

If you are worried about the game time that you don't receive with the expansions, why not just buy 4 copies of vanilla for $20 and get 4 months worth of codes... 2 month GTC's where I live are about $39 CDN. Even with the exchange rate, that would still save $50+.

Is it the installation key that gives you the time, or does it ship with a separate 30 day GTC?

  • No_ExitNo_Exit Member Posts: 22

At this point they should just give away the original for free and charge an increasing amount for each sucessive expansion.

I think they are plenty wealthy and can afford that in order to bring new players in.   I mean.. you do pay a monthly fee.

Heheheh, just what I've been waiting for, just grabbed WotLK for $10.

Buying 4 vanillas will yield you 4 accounts with 30 days each.  Not 1 account with 120 days.

as far as i know we can try for free only 10 days of Vanilla, then for others we MUST have game paid to try. same will be done for Cata i guess, so no time payed no new trail.

and it very right each game is new account & not time added to your existent 1 (game is only vanilla btw, rest are expantions).

i wonder if you buy vanilla + wrath would it work or you gonna stuck on lvl 60 hehe.

and as they sells all real cheap, may be cuz they are not sure how long Cata will last too

try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.
Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2

    Include 30 free day?

  • WizardryWizardry Member LegendaryPosts: 19,332

Well it looks like a decent deal but is no way a great deal, you can get a higher quality EQ2 for FREE,subscribe to the game and you get all that content free ,except the latest pack which of course is what Blizzard is doing also.

BTW EQ2 also upped Blizzard on the trial, you get EQ2x basically free with some limitations ...forever,Wow's trial is 10 days. Not that EQ2 is any different of a game, but i think the graphics and better animations/spells kept my attention longer,i can last about 1 month at a time in Eq2 before getting bored.

IMO cost is a non factor,i play games for their quality/value not because someone bribes me with deals.I got bored with Wow in 3 days, that is not very long at all,i would gladly pay Blizzard 30 bucks a month if the game had some Fun value to it,but there was nothing there for me at all.

I got real tired of constantly clicking he map looking for my next targeted quest, this was all i was doing over and over again until finally combat and the occasional skinning for leather..then in combat all i did was over and over again the same sequence of button mashing,as you can  see nothing there resembles fun,idk what others are doing in the game that is Fun ,by i never saw it.The graphics looking so bad and dated also lost my attention,at least if i had soemthing nice to look at the boring game could be over looked ,but only slightly of course ,the game matters more.

Sorry if i wasn't suppose to discuss this topic, but it wasn't locked as a look see only,so i assume it was meant to be discussed?
