Interesting watch for those of you who are in the business world and enjoy MMO's. He obviously knows the industry well enough to lead us into the next generation of MMO's.

MMO's are the perfect platform for DR Evil to rule the world and I for one am looking forward to all his products. For those of you who don't know Trion worlds are in the process of making 3 mmo's. Rift obviously being the RPG of the bunch, he is also developing a RTS MMO called End of Nations and a Co production 3d shooter MMO supposedly called one earth. The sci fi mmo is being co produced with Syfy channel to have the world co exist on TV and Online. This of course is ground breaking because actions in the game world will be reflected by real life actors and your character could become a regular on the show.

I don't find the combination of words to be funny. Maybe I just don't understand your sense of humor. True Dynamic Worlds and Co Production with TV programming that supports the same world. Sounds next generation to me.
He seems to be the flavor of the month currently. Be interesting to see how he does in the long run. He has always been very good talker, very charismatic probably one reason he has gotten the backing he has.

Any large company needs a good front man that can produce hype around his ideas and the ideas of those in his company. I think the real exciting part of this is his investors and partners. Instead of looking for tech investors he went for media investors allowing him to develop the technology and allowing them to add in the mass media appeal. From an Investment standpoint It seems very solid. Also from the gamer's point of view it gives us a look to the future and are taking the product seriously.
just to correct you abit, its not RIFT that will be incooperated with a TV-show, that is their third MMO SYFY.

He is very good at talking about the MMO industry to non MMO people. But in the end he is really not saying anything new.
God I really really hope Trion has tons of Success and know what they are doing. Rifts looks really good and End of Nations looks "ok" (not a fan of petroglyphs latest projects) but man it looks like they have all the motivation to become the first big company designed exclusively for MMO games of all genres.

I still don't understand your point. Yes he is the front man for the company and therefore has to sell his ideas to people who don't play the game. This is fundamental in finding venture capital. The idea isn't ground breaking, what is groundbreaking is a company and CEO that understands that value of the product and pushes his company to produce top notch games. Considering the lack of money that Blizzard put into the continued development of World of Warcraft, I would think that the community would better understand what this company brings to the table. Trion has the opportunity to become one of the world leaders in online media and in media in general. I find that very exciting that a company has finally realized value and found the talent and financial backing to see that dream to realization.
