I just got the beta for this game today and was wondering how many other people had checked it out?
It's a space flight mmo in it's early stages with destructible environments.
It also has a single/co-op multiplayer component to it that will be released as well. This part (NOT the MMO portion) is currently being sold at a 70% discount because it is in early stages of development and you get into the alpha/beta right away.
Quick Update:
After some confusion over the pre-orders the Devs have changed it so that if you order before December 1st you will get a copy of the MMO as well when it comes out!

I got the game as well and from what little and i stress little that the beta has given me to work with. I hope they put alot of time and thought into this game. It realy can be a great game from all the options you have in terms of how you go about playing the game. I am hoping that they add all kinds of ships not just mining vessels but we will see.
Hi, i preordered Miner Wars coz it looked cool and hoped for the MMO.
Just a couple Days ago they made it clear that the Game you Purchase with the PreOrder is NOT the MMO.
Its the Single Player, Co-Op, Multiplayer Game.
Unfortunately, they never said so before and they also deleted the Discussion Thread about it.
But i think they changed the FAQ and the Order Page now doesnt include "MMO" anymore.
Wow really?!! I bought the pre-order also because it had the mmo part in the description,this is actually pretty lame then and also sad because it seems you cant get a refund either.This doesnt speak well for the company imho.

Its a bit older and not all answers are there, but youll see the important things.
Some People just like me got a bit upset about them misleading us.
And I am very sad that they deleted this Thread.
First i thought they just moved it as it looks like they rearranged the Forums but in my Profile, the Message History shows nothing...and i did post in that Thread.
Sigh, highly misleading indeed.And the thing that is bugging me the most is that stardock said it was a alpha product therefore no refunds.

Anyone who bought into this was scammed Eve Online style. If they don't refund the money to anyone who requests it, I'd never trust this company again. And even if I did trust them, I wouldn't play their game just out of disapproval of this incident.
I think the last Post from one of the Devs was that they thought it was obvious that the MMO isnt included ><
And as i said in that Thread, i am not regretting pre-ordering because for 10 bucks, it seems nice enough.
Its the principle of being mislead what really upsets me.

I actually bought it through their own Website and their it didnt say that either untill they just changed it.
The Description still says "Miner Wars is a 6DOF underground and space shooter played in a fully destructible environment and is a combination of single player story game and MMO".
But when you want to but it, the Description now says "Buy Miner Wars 2081 for a special pre-release price! Included: Access to the pre-alpha test phase of the game and full version of the game upon release. Single Player/Co-Op/Standard Multi-Player."
I am still thinking about contacting the Devs and asking for a Refund.
Guess my Chances are a bit higher since i bought it from them directly.
Edit: I just wrote them an Email about a Refund.
I will let you Guys know how they react about that.
Just recieved my Refund through Paypal.

I sent them an email. Since I didn't purchase through paypal I don't expect such a simple refund process. It would certainly be in their best interest to issue me the refund. Since I will likely put that money towards the MMO version when it's released, but only if they behave in an ethical fashion. While $15 is not a lot, it is the principle of such things and I will attempt a charge back through my bank over it.

Well that was a quick turnaround. Thanks for giving us the updates Para, I'll get things updated in the first post too so people can see that the devs aren't trying to scam people.
I just bought it yesterday. They threw in the mmo for free if you bought it before December 1st.
Reminds me of the old Descent and Descent 2 days. Those was my favorite games of all time.
It's been cleared it guys, stop stressing about it. Anyone's preordered so far will be getting the MMO version when it's out.

If you would have read the Posts, you would have noticed that they were done before things were cleared up.
And once they were cleared up, everybody was happy.
