Those of you back for free for the long holiday weekend, welcome! We hope you're having fun reconnecting with old friends and checking out all of the great new content including the Witches of Dathomir Prologue, Galactic Civil War Leaderboards, Fishing Leaderboards, the new rare loot system and much more. If you've been gone a while be sure and check out the Galactic Civil War invasions and scoring system, and the new loot for the Heroics. Also, browse the commodities market to purchase some cool loot and collections given out during The Empire Strikes Back 30th Anniversary and the Star Wars Galaxies 7th Anniversary celebrations!

I guess that galaxy wasn't so far away after all.
While I like welcome back weekends and might give this one a shot, this give away just seems so very wrong. What's next '50's car's for ground transportation? ....... Well actually that sounds pretty cool.
It just seems like they're really starting to reach. Sad really.

ive been kinda hoping they adopt a F2P model for this game
Kind of a dumb way to do it, active members since 2008. I haven't paid for the game since 2007 and last time I played was in 08 during a trial around Halloween I think.
I would bet the number of accounts that resub is increasingly smaller the longer the account has been closed. The majority of the folks who quit that far back would likely have characters on the closed servers, which is a headache they would likely rather avoid.
It doesn't make sense to offer free time to people they know aren't going to resub and who will likely complain that the game is still horrible and unfun. It is better, and cheaper, to target former players who were willing to pay for the current version of the game most recently. With the major publishes coming fewer and farther between, due to a tiny dev team, which is due in turn to a diminished playerbase, they are best off trying to pacify the current playerbase and hope to attract back players who quit recently.
My account is eligible for this promotion but is not active . It seems that mechanism is not functioning properly because my friends trial account was reactivated. SOE...
So Indiana Jones is Star Warsy and Iconic? It's good to see the NGE is still doing its job for SWG...

Too funny.
I did a welcome back weekend a year or two back and actually subbed for a month since I somehow hadn't gotten my fill. I don't think it took me more than a week into the sub to realize how bad this game is (for me). Don't get me wrong, I love my themepark games but this isn't one or a good one as many had said the NGE was meant to do to the game.
The only thing to really marvel about in the game were going into some of the houses and checking out the decorations, which unfortunately is the one and only area that that game shines anymore.
While reading what they seem to be advertising as "content" in the welcome back ad, I'm going to have to take a pass this time around.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

The Game was never that good people just use the NGE as an excuse it was only ever popular because of the Star Wars franchise. Once SWTOR releases SWG will be forgotten for the better of the SW franchises everywhere.
If its free why not try it , I wouldn't waste my time.
