Oh yeah, thank god we have people making videos that compare every terribad cash shop game to WoW. Thank you for the enlightenment.

I like MMOHUT but i also put very little stock in what he says because the guy plays a game for 10 mins and writes a review.

If your going to ban the trolls please for our sake ban the Fan Boys too.

I like his reviews, very entertaining and saw some games i've never seen before. Almost all of them are garbage though.

  • Come on people, not every review is the same, take it for what it is. It is a review based of a half an hour gameplay(besides from what he tells you know he has played it more). Its not supposed to be this grand scale review that some game sites do, but its gives you a good god damn picture of the game. I cannot believe your comment leagolx. It may not benefit you, but I'm pretty sure it would point a lot of players in the right direction by watching his videos. Instead of researching and reading up on the game yourself and potential installing it to try.

I agree with crispin. Watching his reviews definitely help in my decision to try a game i've never seen before. For better or for worse.

Agree, his review are sometimes nice, and he review alot of Korean games and some rare MMO out there

but unfortunately, most of them suck, or you would get bored inside 1 month

    So What Now?

I know what the review is and what it is intended for i simiply stated why I like them but also why I dont like them. They are great for entertainment purposes but by no means are full reviews and on his website his full reviews are not very in depth. Also his screen shots of games rarely have characters above lvl 15. Ive watched most of his videos but he does play a warrior in almost everyone of his videos so that doesnt really display much of a games casting mechanics which may interest some people. In my experience warriors play the same in almost every mmo. I would say saying you cannot believe my comment is a little bit of attack for such a small comment. Does it really bother you that much that I dont personally put a large amount of stock into a first look reviewer you happen to like. I think the MMORPG community would like to hear both sides and not just one side. That being said some people like first looks and thats great if you think the first 10 minutes of  a game should convince you to play or not to play thats your choice but most games tutorials are longer than 10 minutes so i would just like to see more than tutorial footage. Also in his review for pirates of the burning sea quite a few others he did little more than get lost.

I tend to use MMOHut (That and The BFF Report) to give me an Idea of what to expect.

10 minutes isn't alot of time but, it does give me an Idea of what to expect when I login the first and a few of the starter quests. (though BFF Report is more tongue in check when he reviews a game, But still tends to be more critical.)

    Good recommendation.

As others have said, yes he doesn't put an incredible amount of time into his reviews. That being said, the convenience of having someone download/test/compile an HD video with commentary for me is well appreciated. Its a good way to get a small taste of a game.

Isn't that the point of almost all MMO reviews now? Play until you reach lv10~15 and then log off and mash up some resemblance of a "review"? Or heavens above, I've never seen one review after a launch of an MMO that actually looks like a review apart from the "ratings" they give to "graphics/sound/gameplay".

To be honest, I feel like we should whack 'em for thinking that that's all a review consists of.

Edited to add: I do like MMOhut but not for its reviews, only as a catalog of games. Its editorials and etc. are not the highlight of the site, to be honest, and the game summaries/etc sound like they've been copied and pasted from Press Releases.
