This week, MMORPG.com's own Bill Murphy had the opportunity to fire a couple of questions off to the Perfect World Entertainment crew about their upcoming MMORPG release, Legend of Martial Arts (re-launching Closed Beta at the end of the month). Check out the Q&A and let us know what you think in our forums!
Kung Foo’s initial release was met with a mixed reception. At that point we decided to go back to the drawing board and looked at player feedback, behavior, and data to see what aspects of the game people enjoyed most. After going through that process, we decided that humor was not one of the main aspects that people enjoyed. Legend of Martial Arts has a lot to offer besides the humor and with the renaming, we wanted to highlight the game’s content and in-depth features.

All PWI games are just...bad.
PWI has a new game every other week... XD
i cannot belive PWI make torchlight.torchlight is so awesome and other games which they make are so bad
I dont think they made torchlight they just published it.Runic games made it.And their answers are so basic and lame almost didn't read it.
I understand MMORPG.com is a business and should remain a bit unobjective, but this interview actually makes me a little disappointed in them. As someone who tried the beta, I can promise you all that this game is no different than how it started (except for the graphics and now the transformations, woopie), and thus is no different than ESO or any other PW game for that matter. It's still the exact same UI, the exact same quest grind, the exact same way to game quests, everything is exactly the same. Aside from the humor, you'll feel like you're playing ESO. And people who played ESO, felt like they were playing Jade Dynasty, and so on and so forth.
PWI is a shallow company completely incapable of anything innovative. Rather than dedicating resources to making one or two games exceptional, they make a bunch of clones of their own game to no real end except to spread the gaming population as thin as possible and snatch all that item mall money.
Damn near every gamer knows this, it's not even opinion anymore it's encroaching on established fact. I don't know much about FW at the moment, it may prove to be PWI's single saving grace, but until I play it I can't say for certain. Point is, that this interview tried to paint them and this knock-off game in such a good light is little more than marketing. "Get back to making a fun game" really? There's nothing to make. They just retextured their existing game and expect people to fall for it, and you guys are all in with no qualms about it.
Get that paycheck.
"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."
FW was just as bad. Same game as the rest with a few new classes. Was pure crap.
Are they? I can see why on that pirate screenshot. The building, wood & ropes are straight from wow. The building's windows are replaced by oblivion windows by the looks of it. Seems to be a cut & paste of resources from other games.
Didn't you guys know, PWE is the new TQ lol, they are just as bad for rehashing the same game, only difference is they have more up to date graphics :P
Doesn't surprize me to read FW is yet another clone of their other games, that actually wouldn't be as much of a problem if their features/systems weren't so obviously created with continuously dipping into peoples wallets in mind. They just keep getting more and more designed to enforce cashshop use as each new one comes along, and BoI was the last straw for me (which like the rest seem fine at first, until you dive deeper into the game).
Why anyone would continue to play and have hope for their new games to be different is beyond me at this point. All their games seem like they are just test grounds for how far they can secretly push their users spending, I don't think it will ever stop until they find that "winning" combination.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not aggainst occasional CS spending, but with the types of items the sell, along with how low upgrading systems success rates always are (even if you're using CS items for it), the whole thing is just setup to scam you out of your money.
You're really never going to get anywhere without spending 100's of dollars and to get ahead of the current PWE crowd it will likely cost 1000's (lots of big spenders there in the $2-300 range /mo, and even koreans self admitting to credit card fraud, good luck trying to simply play and level up ammongst that).
PWE = One of the most corrupt and money hungry f2p companies out there.
/end rant & good $*&^ing morning PWE.
Lol, generic name X, Fight of Fighters...
This game really sucks you shouldn`t waste your time with it. Just take my word for it.
