I sat here.. refreshing constantly... the Rift key post comes up... i hit reply when it showed a total of 4 comments... enter my comment... and somehow im in the 200+ numbers? HOW IN HOLY HELL DID I GO FROM ADDING MY COMMENT WITH 4 POSTED SO FAR... TO ENDING UP 200+ WITHIN THE SPAN OF 5 SECONDS!

i agree, what a bunch of bs. i sat here refreshing over and over, and when it finaly popped up, there were over 20 pages of replies. wtf, and by the time it even made it to the main news page there was over 30 replies. that is bs

But I'm fairly disappointed with how this thing was handled, I would have preferred a contest much like the others on the website.

Hit it right when it came up and I was #96 people were all over that.

Most likely, they didn't have to wait for the page to "load", they just "posted" their response the moment the link came up. I posted less than 30 seconds after the link popped up, saw 76 comments when I hit "post", and ended up 130. Some dude actually managed to post twice... before me. /sigh.
I'm glad I'm pre-occupied with a different beta.
This giveaway was always a joke, since DAY 2. Day 1 was legitimate, nobody knew it was happening.
But MikeB then saying he'll do it for the next 4 days then concluded it was a battle of the bots, only a significant few human beings could get lucky and land a key. On top of that, this monday giveaway gave those cheating bots THREE days to prepare and possibly get even sneakier / faster; we never stood a chance lads gf.

Yea you drew me and some others to your site with this.. and i can honestly say i was enjoying myself looking around and exploring the site and probably would of stayed around.... but after this craptastic experience... i dont really even want to be here. Please delete my account.

Pretty sure I got in at number 22. I accidentally posted twice due to the latency of the site, both posts within about 4 secs of each other and the second post came out over 100, around 120-130 I think. So yeah. It was done in a matter of seconds. If you didn't hit it within 10 seconds of that post coming up, that's about the time range you had.
I was stressing it quite a bit -> # 38 but it took like 20s to open the topic then another 50s to get my post posted, when i hit the post button there were 20 posts ahead of me....
guess i lucked out but it makes me think t here might be less bots thn people think and a hell of a lot more paranoid gamers like me that just sit behind the screen all day spamming f5

This will backfire on MMORPG.com as they have turned what could of been a good marketing tool into one that makes them look like a bunch of idiots.
I would not be surprised to see this actually hurt their hits down the road as folks wont bother to visit due to their bad experience in this giveaway.
Very poorly done.. and why do a giveaway when your site cant handle the traffic it generates. pathetic.
