I would like to start a campaign to bring Daoc back. I'm talking putting together a group of loyal players with the intention to campaign for EA or new team to revamp Daoc. I'm talking marketing, building up the player base and etc. I was also thinking about finding a new financial team that would fund this project. Who is with me? If we don't put up some type of fight then its back to World of warcraft. Don't get me wrong that game is great but not on par with Daoc. We all know that. I know many of you would like to play a real mmo again. We can do that if we're willing to fight for it.

However only under the pretenses that updating the UI is a priority. I would be playing Dark Age if the UI wasn't so 2003. I love the game and know I can always fall back on it to find fun solo and grouped pvp. Currently playing Warhammer and it's actually quite fun. Different and not Dark Age but fun. Dark Age will always be number one on my list.

sir,
do you even know how hard game design is?
im working in game design now, me and a team are making a nice mmo. (cant tell to much bout it)
but its really hard to do. u cant just 1,2,3 do it.
still would be cool if doac was fully alive again.
I love DAoC, but i personally feel that they would be better off re-making it and starting from scratch. Theres to much stuff in DAoC that has 1:watered down the game, or 2: is still in game that caused people to leave in the first place. I tried going back about months ago, just was not the same game, DAoC was fun because its population was high and i dont like how the new Relic keeps are set up either lol
I understand the challenge of the project. But you have to start somewhere. I never said that I had all of the answer. The first step would be at least get a sign penition of players. That would at least show something.

im sorry,
but EA is probably to commercial for that.
atleast u can try. u got my vote.
There was a sequel (pr prequel) planned at one point.. It was named Dawn of Camelot. I believe it was shelved when Mythic got the Warhammer rights.
I would really love for them to take DAOC and rework it with modern network coding and techniques. Pretty much take the old game but put it into a new body. Restore the old frontier system... and let her loose.
It won't happen, but we can dream.

Just look at the TV show Chuck. NBC was going to cancel the show after the second season but because of the fan base campaigned for two months the show was renewed for a third. So It can happen. If we build the interest, the rest will follow.

I really do miss the Old frontier. Running around Emain was some of the most enjoyable PvP I have ever had. Some of the mile gate fights were epic.
Yeah... I recently went to a relic defense. The relic keeps are now.. basically open structures... no doors or walls to break down...
I used to love waiting on the pad in Druim Ligen for Glassny to walk down and teleport us into enemy territory. It had a whole feeling of "Epicness" to it. And then running through Yggdra, knowing that danger lurked at every turn (including guards that were actually tough)... Good times!

I loved this game and would play an updated version in a heartbeat! Stay true to what it is and make it modern.
Personally, I'm dying for Dark Age of Camelot to be ressurected. I have tried every one of the new MMO's, all of which had a really big "OOO AHH" factor at first glance, but never managed to keep me interested. I have an updated campaign going to get EA's head out of their ass and get Dark Age of Camelot off the back burner.

This will be updated regularly, with many more features to bring the DAOC fanbase together.
I went back to DAoC 3 months ago, after being gone for 6 years, and am having a blast! Glad to be back
I think the game represents a period of time for all MMORPGS. It represents a time of moderate growth and I remember when this game first came out. It was different having 3 factions gain control through RvR. The game feels very balanced as well. I think DAOC is on of the few MMORPGs that is still the same after all these years. Sure there has been expansions and a few changes but it still has the old school feel of when it first came out. There was never a really massive change to the game to transform it into something else.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
