No, I have been doing the beta thing for many years now and as a result I go into them with a fairly open mind and relatively low expectations simply because the game is in a testing phase and I don't expect all systems to be operating at 100%. You will find more of the 'QQ' coming from those who have been guzzling down the kool-aid and expecting the beta to be the saviour of the world and even more complaints from 'beta players' who just want a free game to play and will shit up the forums when they find that the beta is not a 'release quality' game experience.

I already have my VIP key, however I must ask why would you register 2 VIP keys when you only need one? That's kind of selfish IMO when you know there's tons of other people trying to get a key. That was one of the major problems people had... people were trying to win numerous keys when a lot of people haven't gotten one.
Been really excited about the game as soon as I became aware of it, spent this week reading up on it and naturally scrounging for progressively better beta keys all over the web, ended up with 2 ordinary ones and a VIP key.
Hope my account is still recognized as VIP because I've yet to get an email. Though I don't intend to make anything of this until tomorrow as a matter of courtesy.

I don t think it s very pvp centric at all. I could be wrong but I think it s more of a pve game with some pvp thrown in.

Leucent, I agree Rift doesn't appear to focus on pvp. It would be nice if they were able to find a nice balance of pve and pvp. I'm always a little apprehensive of a new mmorpg when it sells itself purely as a pve or pvp game.

It is both pve and pvp centric. The fact that they designed FACTION VS FACTION as one of the core mechanics should say a lot about how they view the importance of PVP when designing the game as a whole. They are essentially doing what WoW is doing by offering a healthy dose of both pve and pvp modes of play. They are not mutually exclusive of one another.

Yep. I really like a good pve game, with some pvp thrown in that does mean something. When a game has all pvp endgame it gets redundant, as does the same dungeon over and over, this is my opinion of course. That said if a game has amazing pve at end game it seems to have more lasting appeal then pure pvp at end game. I hope with the dynamic events etc the pve will be great, but would love to see some land control stuff that won t piss off the pve people, but might want to make them participate in the pvp to better their pve.
I always said, as much as I loved DAOC, I would have loved to see the best gear in the game come from crafters, and in order to craft the best stuff you need mats from a certain area. This area is only open to the faction that controls a land or entrance etc. For example if you own DF theres where the best mats are, or something familiar. Gives pve and pvp players a common goal in that aspect of the game. We ll have to see.
