Rift: Ubisoft Chosen for European Distribution

Trion Worlds has announced that Ubisoft has been chosen as the European distributor for Rift. Ubisoft will release the game in France, Benelux, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
“To join forces with an industry leader such as Ubisoft on our first title further demonstrates the potential Rift has to be a game-changer in the online gaming space,” said Lars Buttler, CEO, Trion Worlds. “We are thrilled to be working with Ubisoft, one of world’s leading publishers, as we reaffirm our commitment to deliver quality products to gamers around the world.”

Ubisoft is great company especialy after ac franchize.
Although i would prefere a game from them alone.

Just reminded me of Two Worlds 2 "We will be releasing the polished version in US in 2011 while we get the early money from the EU edition" (aka test version)
Suddenly I feel bad for being European.
Oh noes. Guess if you don't live in those countries, you have to download the game instead of buy it in stores. Big deal. They didn't say that the game will be unplayable in every other country that isn't listed.

isn't this game supposed to have a subscription fee? Why would they need a drm tool then?
I hope they do not lock regions since I want to play on the US servers. My experience has always been poor with Euro launches of DAoC,LotRO and I will not play in this region in spite of living here.

I feel that I have to pop in here just to clarify:
Ubisoft is in charge of distributing the retail version of the game in the listed countries.
This has nothing to do with the servers, which remain one EU and one US.
