GW satisfaction rating dropping fast

in Guild Wars

GW's retail release seems to be a letdown to many players and proves how overhyped it was.

Won't be much longer til it drops below 1st place on this site.

Just isn't a good game.

    Sure... with WoW ¨I have no life¨ fanboys registering new nicks and giving it the lowest score possible (without even playing the game first) it will definitely drop bellow WoW.

    But people who keep playing it will continue to have fun. image

    I guess you gotta be one to know one... This is how you have rated WoW I guess.

    GW is a simple game for simple minds. The only challenge playing GW is to find reasons to play it....

    I think you'll find GWs release has been a massive success and has actually impressed much more people than it has let down.

    Also if GW is for nerds then other MMORPGs must be for ULTRA-nerds as it has the most 'pickup and play when you want' style of any game of its type.

    So Gw is actually gameplay fun WITHOUT the nerdy grind.

    Wow, GW was a let down? Sorry, I didnt seem to notice when there where 24 districts last night in each city and place PACKED full of people.

    And you really believe that people base their purchases on how people at this site rates a game??? ::::06::

    Right now the other is game is hemorrhaging customers. I was in a guild of nearly 75 members, most got bored and left.

    You're talking about WoW atm aren't you? GW isn't simple-minded, it's much more harder than WoW I must say and more rewarding also.

    I got to play it finaly at a friends house.I stay up late playing it.It was a ok game i got to lvl12.I might buy it my self when it drops in price.Its more of a when im bord ill play type of game for me. Its good but it wasnt great as people made it out to be.It wasnt as bad as some people made it out to be ether.

    Level 12 is not bad.  Did you get to Yaks Bend or beyond?  It's still too early IMO to judge the entire game.  Really everything changes once you have many more builds you can re-spec too and once you get into GvG.  But I'd say by level 12 you probably know about 1/3 of how the game plays, but don't shortchange everything after the point of ascension (lvl 20) since that's really what the game is geared towards anyways.

    ... Why does someone care about the rating on the site? It means absolutely nothing. You don't even have to play the game to rate it. If that doesn't remove all credibility from the rating system I'm not sure what would.

    Sure, GW is first right now. Does that mean it's the best? No. It will be for some people, and won't be for other people. That's always going to be how it is. Unfortunately there are people who feel the need for external justification. Their opinion MUST be agreed with at all costs! I don't care if you like it. Extend me the same platform of indifference.

    As for the guy who played to level 4.. did you even go past the tutorial? (Pre-searing Ascalon.) Yes. That's pretty much a tutorial. If you're basing GW's worth on just that section.. it's not even worth having an opinion on the game.

    I've seen a lot of people who don't realize the fact that Pre-Searing IS basically just a tutorial to get you used to the game, and the controls. It's quite large, compared to the tutorials in most games. Perhaps it's too good - people think THAT is the way the rest of the game is. Not true, at all.

    Personally I think that the whole leveling from 1-20 is a tutorial.  Sure it will take you 40-60 hours your first try, but Guild Wars is a very complex game and it takes that long before you will have a good understanding of your class and how to manipulate it into a build you enjoy the most.

    Seriously.. at level 4 you never got over the learning curve and into the game.  Too bad, you're missing out on the real fun that comes at levels above 4.  Did you try PvP?  GvG?  How many skills did you collect?  Try any interesting builds?  Team up with eight other people to complete a complex mission? 

    Threads like this make me wonder why WoW fanbois are so defensive of their game that the feel the need to bash and degrade GW every chance they get.  Sad really. WoW can be a great game and GW can be a great game too... there is room in the world for more than one great game.

    I personally love the game and imagine the only reason the rating is dropping is the obvious one, fans of other games giving it a 1 rating to skew the results.  My suggestion would be to play the game for more than an hour, get past level 4, then judge it for yourself.  It's not like you're going to have a monthly bill or anything...

    This is the first MMORPG that I've ever played and it never ceases to amaze me how personally some players take the ratings of their favorite games! Frankly, so what if WOW is ranked lower than GW. People who play WOW and are having fun are not going to switch to GW cause of the ratings on a website. I just don't get why people get so worked up about it.

    So far I've enjoyed it. Only level 9, but I think I want to redo the char.
    But the key thing that will make Guild wars work is that the game doesn't have a monthly fee.

    What is left to dream that is not forgoten before the day begins.
