After only a few hours of Cataclysm being available, Forscience, a Paladin on the European server Neptulon, has already hit level 85, the new level cap introduced in the expansion. Forscience's time to reach the cap is just 5 hours and 30 minutes, shortly after the launch of Cataclysm! Can't imagine how he managed to do that. There must be a great team to help Forscience to be the first person to reach level 85. Anyway, congratulations! Below are some pictures showing when Forscience reached level 85 and according to Forscience, he will put a video showing how they managed to achieve world first.
Every new expansion makes players crazy. Anyhow, Congrats.

Yea congrats on burning through and wasting content, your reward is 5 second e-fame and perpetual repetitive gear grind.
Crying for more content incoming.
hahahah whats wrong with him hitting 85 and whats wrong with e fame? dont you play mmos to get some kind of fame? relax buddy at least you will have content , dont be jalous its a bad thing
To me this is more of an exploit than an achievement. I blame blizzard for not creating diminishing xp on mob tapping...
Yeah, basically he ran around hitting mobs one time, then had a team of morons who were not grouped with him kill the mobs. That is why he didn't vid it. I kept an eye on a couple other people who were just questing (really really fast). There was a warrior who was questing alone who wasn't far behing the lame guy. I was astonished he could quest that fast for so long. There were also a couple other live feeds of people trying to do it by grinding dungeons. It was pretty obvious within an hour or two that grinding dungeons wasn't the way to go. Questing is actually faster.
My server still only has 3 players at lvl 84.
It's Athene. It isn't an exploit either. He got blizzard people to approve of it before he did it.
And there is a video of him doing it on his youtube.
Wow... I just returned to WoW after several years of not playing and my highest level is still 60. I have a TON of content to play with...
I spose grats for hitting 85!
Report back when someone is the first to kill the red shirt guy in game, now that is an acheivment.
Welcome back!
My brother just got back on as a level 63 rogue and he too is overwhelmed right now.
However, I don't think I could bare going through BC again myself.. LOL
I got 3 level 80's and think thats more than enough for me, even despite the new content on the lower levels.
He didn't say there was anything WRONG with hitting 85,after all it is a level,so i guess the reasoning is to get it.He is saying it is nothing to brag about or even offer congrats, there is no skill to achieving it what so ever, just time spent. The fact he might have done it sooner is also nothing to brag about, many others could have beat him to it,it they so desired, not everyone is in a race to prove something. If for example you are in a 100m race ,everyone in your race is there to win,to prove something,so the winner deserves congrats, this is not remotely close to the same thing.
Should time spent be a mechanic to judge accomplishment or offer congrats?I think not, this is what the poster is saying. The fact that there is available cheats in the game also, could accomplish leveling faster, example multi box cheats, that have auto healers and such, when everything is automated,it is more efficient, therfore ,not something to brag about.Unless the OP knows for FACT that the player accomplished this on his own ,without the aid of cheats and others, then there is no bragging or efame deserved. If others aided him, then they deserve just as mich credit if not more, otherwise he would have never accomplished it,so there is more to efame than just a level number.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Is this that Athene guy who does the youtube vids, who pwlvl 1-70 in 1 day 19 hours

The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species.
Yeah the one who went around his town bothering shop owners and cashiers about wanting to buy raid gear.
Only one really who needs to relax seems you. How does the guy stating what he did mean he's jealous? Contrary to belief there are some who really don't give a damn so the idea they are jealous is a stretch on your part. It's not some amazing feat to run around tapping mobs while others kill behind you. And no most don't play mmo's for fame. Kind of silly to do so. Most is just for fun and relaxaton since it a game after all.
Congrats to the guy on achieving what he wants but honestly seems rather pointless. *shrugs* But whatever floats his boat I guess. We all play for our own reasons.
The problem with "E-fame" is that it's the kind of fame that isn't really fame, moreso just people who shake their head in pity or disgust.
You know, like they do with Paris Hilton.
Congrats to this guy though, he gets to spend the next two years whining about a lack of content and only having himself to blame.
WoW Sidequests
haha, from 60 - 85, you need much time to level up now.
The first to lv85 made him famous, that is what he need. In other words, it's a good thing for him.
1 day to get to 85, 2-3 years of grinding the same few dungeons, fun, fun....
Why are we congraulating this guy again? I think its pretty lame to bypass all the hard work the devs put in to just cheat your way to the top. Its like you poor parents buying you a gift and you just tear off the wrapper and say "Next!"
