NCSoft and the Lineage II team have a preview of upcoming changes coming to the game in the form of the Goddess of Destruction. The sneak peek shows off recently released information at last week's GStar convention in South Korea.
Lineage II has been completely revamped! Unveiling of 'Goddess of Destruction' at Gstar
Lineage II Lead Designer Jaehyuk Hahn revealed that his team "created this update to surpass anything previously created for Lineage II." He also added that, "game playability has been improved based on the community's feedback, so there will be a lot of great things for our players to look forward to."What's everyone talking about? Lineage II's Awakening System and explosive combat action!
Gamers who had the chance to play the demo version were buzzing with excitement:
"The best thing about Lineage II is experiencing the diverse class system through class transfers."
"I'm so excited to see how the classes have changed with the Awakening System. I can't wait!"
"I always look forward to all the new Lineage II updates. But with this new combat system, I think it'll feel like a whole new game!"

Anyone want to give the skinny on what has changed in the game? Is it still a horrible grind with really annoying movement controls? It amazes me the amount of games out there with tons of content all locked behind archaic controls and time sink mechanics. Games like EQ, AC, Istaria, Lineage 2 etc.
Not a whole lot of info translated right now cause it won't be seen for at least a year, most people are waiting for Hi5 to drop which will bring major changes to the game.
Goddess of Destruction is on the test server of the Korean L2 right now and don't really know how many parts it will come in.
People still pay to play this game? Or is it all that korean money funding the US servers too?
What is known:
- Complete overhaul of game controls and combat.(there is an ability to remap the keyboard as you want, for example)
- Complete overhaul of all the classes and skills.(there are dwarven healers now, summoner mechanics are entirelly different, rogue classes can do an actual parkour stuff, etc)
- Complete remake of the game world due to certain events. Thus the whole lore is brought closer to Lineage I (considering Lineage 2 is a prequel to Lineage 1 and in between them there's a huge catastrophe which happens in exactly this update)
- Complete overhaul of quest system(pretty much everything in there is scrapped and done anew).
- Complete overhaul on crafting and every other core feature.
- Jumping, faster, more action-y combat (not a mix between usual click-to-move rpg combat and action-games like combat)
- Graphical assets upgraded to at least aion-level of graphics.
- New features, remade sieges with actual physics, etc.
Bassically they are taking away what was bad about the game, adding new stuff and updating what was good about game.

Now that's what I'm talking about! I'll definitely give the game a try again when all of that gets put in. I hope it is as good as it sounds and that other games take notice.

WHo cares? The game is run by bots that are supported by NC Soft to get people to pay cash for in game currency. There is nothing that can be done to save this game. NOTHING

And the people who care are the people who like the game. It's actually a great game.
Save it from what? It's stll extremely popular in the east and it does have a hard core fan base in the west. I doubt it's going anywhere.

This game is very popular in EU and USA, but the most of the players play on private servers because the censorship and the bad costumer service of NCSOFT NA and more problems well know by lineage community, if you use google or have friends who play, you can find servers with 3x more population them retail.
Am i the onyl one that that feels disgusted by that thing, lineage 2 was such a nice and good game but now they want to turn it to a typical gimmicky and stupidly slow gay animations to attract little kids...
One of the main reasons i loved lineage 2 pvp was the animations, complex but never took a lot of time to finish, it was always less than a second(at lategame mostly though). Gladiator skills were awesome, now they are crap...
Sigh l2 will become yet another kid attracting mmorpg with stupid typical mmorpg stuff...
