SV has partially updated the Under Development section of their web site, which can be seen here:

Just my opinion, but the addition of butchery should go some way toward making some needed changes to the overall crafting and economic systems.
No idea what the bullet about extraction means, however.

Looking forward the mini games, the tasks and the finalized version of fishing.
In your opinion, how do you think Butchery will fix the current problems with the crafting and economic system? It seems quite a bold statement to make, interested in your reasoning.
Have you seen a design document or preview from SV, as there seem very few details to base any opinion on.
Id' prefer they focus entirely on item #1. · Bug fixing

I didn't say butchery would "fix" crafting or the economy. I said it would make some needed and welcome changes to both. Fix and change are two entirely different words.
To my understanding, butchery will be a new profession dealing with animal-based materials, in a way similar to how the extractor/refiner deals with ore-based materials. Perhaps not exactly the same, but similar.
Slain animals should yield a carcass that will need to be processed by a butcher to produce usable mats, instead of dropping already refined and usable crafting mats as they do now.
If I'm correct, the addition of butchery should add a new non-combat playstyle, and will add another link in the economic chain to crafting with regard to animal based materials.

So when the biggest concern regarding crafting is not being able to find anyone to make your gear, they are now going to add in another (no doubt bug ridden) dependancy / profession to make it even harder to find someone to make your items. Sounds great!
They need tools to facilitate trade between those left still playing, not add in more barriers.
They are fiddling with pet projects while Rome burns.
butchery helps the economy by making PvE less of an ATM for players to get gold without interacting with anyone else. As for 'fixing' the low population, I'd imagine adding more and more features (that they'd been promising for months) will help that more than anything.
Would be good if they made the game work 95% of the time first.
The section highlighted in yellow is exactly why many people wont return and the fact they still have issues with existing mechanics/features.

Fix what you have first, then expand from there.
just my opinion
I dunno, CCP has been promising Walking In Stations for years now without it ever coming to fruition (and, of course, their game is far from bug-free). I'm sure every MMO has examples of features that are slow to be implemented, and bugs that are slow to be fixed. Though, I'm sure you have a massive list of reasons why MO is much worse than any other game company, and the problems that all of them have in common are worse in MO, so I'll just leave it at that.
I believe extraction is being able to break down looted weapons and armor and making new items with those materials.
Never trust a screenshot or a youtube video without a version stamp!

I think that so.
Been quite alot of activity by the devs in the bug tracker, looks like they really are trying to fix as many bugs as possible for the next patch. Of course that doesnt mean there wont be any new bugs but its a step in the right direction.
However i disagree with those saying fix alol bugs first before adding new stuff. I have been palying for 1 year and i really dont want to keep playing just for a more polished game. I want new content to keep me palying even if its at the expense of less bug fixes.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
Games beyond needing simple polish.

Jeez the games not that bad, it has some bugs yes but nothing major. More content and simple bug fixes, the majority are just superficial anyway.
I would say it is still very buggy game. They should make the game work first. MO is turning in to a bit of a joke.
I was playing for 3-4 hrs yesterday, and the only "bug" I found was 2 loot bags were under ground. /loot fixed it and I got all my resources. I mainly farmed yesterday, but ended up in one pvp fight as well and it was all flawless! So, atleast for me I really enjoy the game every time i log in, and I seem to be extraterrestrial lucky not to find the bugs or getting the desync some ppl are talking about !
I cannot wait for the mini games, the butchery and the extraction enough! Keep the Under development section updated, weii!
If it is not that bad, why don't you still play?
You stated you no longer subscribe to MO. If it's not the bugs, what is it? The lack of any kind of content? The server constantly crashing? SV's inability to produce a patch that doesn't break the game even more? Just curious.
Everyone takes breaks from MMO's. It's healthy. NOT taking a break from an MMO (either playing it, or criticising it online) is what causes problems.
Comparing EVE and the addition of Incarna to MO and the additions needed there is a pretty poor comparison in fairness.
"Come and have a look at what you could have won."
Without pve and a world worth fighting over that yields the better materials and items, the pvp will still feel pointless just like it has from day 1.
If MO adds a bunch of dungeons and territory and stuff worth fighting for, I would consider going back. As it is today, its too small and doesn't have enough content to make the pvp they have based the game around worth engaging in.
All I'm saying is that there's nothing abnormal, or wrong, about talking about game features before they're ready to be implemented. My Incarna reference was just to put things in perspective... people in other games have been waiting for features longer than MO has been a twinkle in SV's eye. I'm certainly not raging against CCP, either here or on any other forum, sorry if I gave the impression I was.
Ah, fair enough then. I didn't think you were QQing against CCP so no need to apologise just thought it was an odd comparison.
