I would have picked STO, but with Cryptic developing it and knowing how they were doing it meant the game was pre-ordained to failure. So I went with 2010 in general, surprising that I couldn't find a good new title from any of them.

Can you add LOTRO to the list it will win by far over these other games.
Yeah. With Seasons 2&3 and the Foundry STO is getting better. But my biggest disappointment was LOTRo going F2P. I keep trying to like it but not quite getting there. All the news you hear about it now is this or that thing being on sale- it's just depressing.
FFXIV. Played through beta got every class to 20 and had a little fun doing it. Took 2 classes to 25 and wished for death the entire time. This game was fail in every way. Its like SE sat down and said, "We did a great job making leveling and having fun painful in FFXI, now how can we ratchet this up a couple thousand times for FFXIV?" If that was their mission statement they succeeded by leaps and bounds.
i saw Mortal Online beta (which actually was pre-alfa by the looks of it - that one version where developers test the very basic things like if shaders and textures are showing at all), so there was no surprise at how much this game sucked during release - they practically released alpha version, not even a beta...
don't care about Star Trek.
haven't even noticed All Points Bulletin, it flew like a bullet - phew! and it's gone.
So, it's Final Fantasy XIV for me. I suspected that Square Enix would screw it, but did not even closely imagined how epic their fail could ever be! should not underestimate the power of fools ever again, now
Of the one's listed I have to say Star Trek Online. Total fail even though I did pay to play it a bit. The whole thing screams free to play in the bad way. I.e. I had to sub to get a free to play experience! O.O!
Klingons with no single player? Fail.
Horrible ground component.
Then again I knew much of that going in. The one that first popped to mind for me was AION since I had high hopes going in but it failed to deliver. Then again wasn't that end of '09 not 10?

2010 in general was pretty bad for me... after all these games that didn't do well came out in 2010, the 1 game I was looking forward to that had a confirmed release date this year got pushed back a couple weeks before launch. DCUO.
Looks like 2010 was a wash... but that just means we'll have an even better 2011.
Damn this is gonna be a close one between STO and FF14. Stil, I vote FF14. Cryptic is a noob company, SE can't say the same. They should have known better.
"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."
the winner has to be STO i mean the game turned out so bad that Cryptic actuall offered full refunds to peopel who pre- purchased Lifetime and yearly subscriptions
Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads! Swords for everyone!
I voted 2010, not just because of the list above, which if I had a choice I would say STO, but I expected it to be crap (never played it though). The only way to make a Star Trek game would be do sandbox it like Eve, perhaps with a large PvE element and deep deep exploring.
The other reasons why 2010 suck is because of the what was killed off - I still scratch my head over the loss of The Chronicles of Spellborn. The rise of companies breeding on total greed like Playdom and the Farmville CrapBook publisher. I know social games are a huge growth but there is something inside me that feel queasy about it all. It felt like a year of loss.

Since already knew that STO was gonna be a big disappointment after I saw what Craptic did to Champions, I went with Final Fantasy. At least STO didn't give out free months to everyone because their game was bjorked.
I was still able to squeeze some fun out of FFXIV but can't say the same for rest of the MMOS on the list. So i voted for 2010 being overall a very disappointing year.

As a three-year vet of that game, I couldn't agree more. LOTRO is the reason I voted "2010 in general."
LotrO would probably win "biggest success of 2010" though!
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
EQ2 continues to be a big disappointment
I voted 2010 in General, with the exception of APB. God I love that game! And I miss it.. Can't wait for 2011!

I voted for 'all of the above'.

For me FFXIV.
I really wanted a PvE co-op MMO to win out to prove that not every game needs to have pvP in it to be successful.
Pissed me off that they botched it so badly tbh.

2010 in general sucked for mmos. heres to 2011.
Guild Wars 2 is my religion
So much I was looking forward to, and it either sunk like the titanic, or isn't to be released till next year.

2010 with no great mmos released and the above disappointing releases.

I don't think there was one good MMO release this year.
Vindictus was a cheap bossing ripoff of DDO.
ABP was a complete failure.
Cataclysm made the WotLK simplified WoW even simpler.
Biggest disappointment? FFXIV...I actually had high hopes for this game
Worst MMO? STO...but I wasn't very disappointed because there really wasn't any hope left after playing around with CO
I was still able to squeeze some fun out of FFXIV but can't say the same for rest of the MMOS on the list. So i voted for 2010 being overall a very disappointing year.
Bite Me
Without a doubt, FFXIV got my vote.
Have you even bothered to play Cataclysm? The instances even on normal are way harder than anything Wrath had.
Why do people keep saying things like LOTRO and Rift etc. It is for games released in 2010 is it not?
Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
My vote for the worse game of the year is Final Fastasy XIV. What a huge disappointment.
