Can you maybe do it within 3 hours from now. So we europeans have a chance at it too? ;)

    Thanks.

Us, Europeans are always left behind. At least 3 of the past Rift vip beta keys giveaway were given so late I either fell asleep or turned off computer after waiting 4-5 hours glued to the monitor. I mean come on, a reasonable hour to give those keys would be sometime around 9-10 PM GMT. Not later

You're complaining about free give-aways for something so amazing?

  • driuliandriulian Member Posts: 16

Actually I am complaining about the fairness of this.

No, the complaint is about the fact that these things are always done at times convenient for the US.  The internet is also available in Europe and Asia, just to let y'all know.

Who knows what time this will take place. It's anyones guess.

I'll be aiming for a time fair to most users, that's all I can say. :)

No complaint here, just an inquiry. I was wondering how they choose who gets the codes? Like everyone else I am dying to have guarenteed access to all the beta rounds.

Exceptionally said. But I guess us, europeans, should really get used to this, once and for all. I mean look at most of the game releasing companies. They don't really care about their european players. To give just two examples: I used to play EQ2 - EU, they always took down servers US time (no idea about that now), Aion always bring down servers US time, they might have changed lately though.

They don't have these events at times that are convenient so US players, they have them at times that are convenient for the company.  Since a lot of gaming companies are based in the US, the times also happen to be convenient to US players.  You think companies are gonna keep the offices open late so you Euros don't throw a hissy fit.  Please.

    Dear god, not again....

Just run a contest, have signups, and pick 100 random people.

Having this won by bots who turn around and sell the keys is annoying.

*chuckles* I have never seen so many people find reason to complain when they are given a chance to get something of value for free. Games are meant to have fun with, contests as well. We can't control what happens, so we mine as well enjoy the ride and see where it goes.

It's pretty normal behavior lately that it's all fun and games.....unless {insert complainer here} loses, then it's whining about how unfair things are and that they should have a key because they are so awesome.

That's why, even if I don't win a contest I still feel I win something. This is because the event is that much more awesome when you get to see self righteous pricks complain that they lost though.

The next beta event begins Friday so there isn't a lot of time to do a raffle type of contest. The quantity of keys is also not large enough to really warrant such a contest.

I'm aware that things aren't perfect, but we are doing whatever we can to ensure this giveaway is fair.

So will it just be a new post or what? How will they pick the people to get the codes?
