Just thought I'd post a method that has worked for me and a friend should this contest be another top 100 comments wins contest. First is to find the permalink URL to the next news post that you expect the contest to be at. For instance, at the time of my post, the URL http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/18960 has no post yet, but http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/18959 does. So expect the next news post to be at 18960 and I watch that. The reason I use this URL instead of the main news page is because this URL has to exist before the main news page to link to it, so it should be viewable before it reaches the main news page.
Second, use ReloadEvery (a firefox add on) to automate your refreshes to the URL you expect in part one above.
Third, have your comment post in your clipboard so you can easily past your comment response.
These types of contests are about who can post first in the shortest period of time. Hope it helps. It's worked for me.
