The notice was given over three hours before the giveaway was done. Not sure where you got the 10 minutes from.

Yea I got fooled also. I got my comment in on the third page.....but by the time I realized that you had to click the link, the keys were all gone. Good way to keep the bots from snagging all the keys though.
yep same crap happened to me. This is the 4th time on the Rift giveaway i didnt stand a chance. I refreshed about every 20-30 secs for the last 3-4 hours and by the time it showed it, i was too late. There has to be a better way especially after all the complaints from this same problem last time. And they still do it the same crappy way.

And yes, the system is flawed when it allows for the fastest F5 spammers to get all the keys. I'm fairly convinced that a lot of people have gotten more than 1 VIP key, since there is no mechanism to throw them back into the "pot" they're lost forever even if they don't register them later.
The listing system is actually a more fair way to do this imho.

I don't have an issue with the way they did this giveaway, even though I was one of the people fooled by the link instead of posting a comment. The reason so many people fell for it is because the keys would go so fast in prior giveaways that you didn't want to take the time to read the entire post. You were in such a hurry to post a comment and be one of the first 100 that it was easy to miss the link.

Noone is ever happy with beta giveaways unless they are the ones that actually win one. Such is life.

You are completely correct, I thought it would have been just like the last five giveaways where it was the first hundred people to comment, no reason to think otherwise. i came bck from watering the horses and saw it up there, admittedly I rushed, didnt read the post and commented. Once I noticed my folly it was too late. No biggie, I am sure Ill see at least 50 of them on ebay or some other site.

In the previous giveaways, you had to post a reply in the thread. I didn't take the time to read this time because the keys go so quickly. I'm not blaming anyone (I probably wasn't fast enough, anyway) & I should've read, but it would have been nice to get a heads-up on the method of delivery.

I just need to laugh to those who commented, and was so crazy that they couldnt stand just read before going berserk on the comment-field.
I saw this just randomly as i was supposed to update myself on MMORPG.com. Boom, i got a key, and dont even care :P Boohoo, kids. Learn to read before commenting or clicking like crazy!
the main complaint before was that people bot to get the keys. Now, if they did announce before how you will get the key, would it not be counter-effective because people would just set up bots to reflect the changes...?
