Really? WOW what a truly novel idea. :)

I am glad to know at least one other person likes to play games to have fun. If you read these boards a lot, you would think the only reason people play games is to further their sociological study of the impircal knowledge and development of MMO's as it relates to the under-current of societal problems in the world and how to best cure those problems utilzing the sandbox or tabula rasa concept.

    Hehe...I will stick with fun!

Sometimes it's not as obvious as it sounds like. You know, when you hear "I did all of it solo to avoid wasting time doing instances or grouping and I quit the game because it was boring."...

Shorter then TBC , Shorter then Vanialla wow .

If you are new to WOW then this game is the best product you can ever buy .

Will keep you happy for years to come .

But for those who already playing from start , this expansion is the shortest ever !

See not even 7 days and i am set to farm dungeons and heroic >.<

Thats really casual gaming , since i leveled 2 other toons to 82 to experience the different story areas .

If I understand you, you are assuming Cata is shorter because it didn't take much time to reach level 85. Nevermind the rework they did on a lot of zones. Nevermind the streamlining of the leveling experience from 1 to 60.

Well, this is a major difference between Cata and BC or WotLK. Both BC and WotLK had little to no impact on Azeroth (except for the new starting zones for the new races).

I just think your statement 'Cataclysm is shorter than BC or WotLK' is innacurate, or should be changed to 'It takes less time to get from the previous level cap to the new End Game'.

Technology didn´t stand still , maybe if you want to look good around , how many have I pods and other similair devices.

Something unheared off 2 years ago .

Those I pod beat the snot out of a pentium 3 that was a big tower case .

You see notebooks that are capable of playing wow .

That they redo the whole starter areas , fine for them , is not affecting my gameplay , they removed my portals from dalaran

Or else i would still be in dalaran , instead of going to stormwind .

You take there manipulation for progress and hard work , i take there work as it comes in current times .

And for a big big money making industry , this expansion feel really really short .

I LOVE UILDUM , some people LOVE VASHI´R , doesn´t mean my love is unconditionally , i only know i am past those areas, and i am back into the gear grind for the ENDGAME .

    You crack me up :)

But I agree with you on this. They could offer more. Especially with the gross revenue they generate. In 2009, they announced a profit margin of 55% for World of Warcraft. But Blizzard is doing so because of a clear lack of competition in high end MMOs...

Totally agreed. It is only shorter if you compare the L80-85 leveling experience vs L70-80.

However, if you take into account of the revamp of the old world (and note that it is FREE if you don't buy the expansion), it is a much BIGGER update with more content than WOTLK.

Trail Accounts can experience the level 20 the revamped contents .

So if i want to buy cataclysme !! , why should i even buy it , i just buy basic !!

And be done with it !! thats a cheap offer , minus  goblin and worgen .

Ok people the whole new cataclysme expansion is only 10 dollar , you dont need to experience more !!

Done deal since everybody said the best content is released for trial accounts , and most work went into that !!

Good marketing hype , the rest of us are idiots who bought the expansions for nothing .

A long time ago, I'd queue up for Blackrock Depth as many times as I could. Not because of the gear grind, but because I used to think this instance was the next best thing next to tuna sushis and tiramisu. Especially the last part from the Lyceum. I was playing to have fun.

lol do you even read my post? even if you try to not reach the end-game fast, you still do.

You argument is poor cause if a play something it is to have fun, to relax but wow even if it's fun.. this is still too damn easy and fast to get lvl. If i want some gear in a dungeon, let say in the prison, the time i grind to get it i will have get some lvl so this gear will become useless since any green will surpass it. Why even bother??

I dont want to reach end-game fast but the game force me to this direction.. Can we stop our character from getting exp? if so please tell me how.

Sorry, but when I read: "why doing instance, if the gears you found will be replace in 1hours?" or "the time i grind to get it i will have get some lvl so this gear will become useless since any green will surpass it", it tells me you're looking for effective ways to reach end game, and you're not playing to have fun. Perhaps you need to explain it better.

Geez man you are hopeless.. in wow you dont have the choice to take your time. I follow the arrow from quest to quest, from zones to zones until i reach the end. If i dont do that what i can do? craft? even that will give me xp since i will have to hunt items to craft and mob give you xp. So what can i do? sit on the floor and look the little rabbit run around the place?

I played FFXI for several months and i never reach the last lvl. So dont tell me all i want is too reach end game fast cause its not. We can argue for hours  but still you cant deny that wow is a game who point you in the end-game very fast. The focus of this game is the end-game instances. The 1-85 lvl is just a short walk until then.

Btw its not because i find it pointless to do something simply to get an items who will be change in a hours that i look to for an effective way to reach end-game. I will not work to buy some cool shoes to a baby simply to change them in a couple of months.

I'm hopeless because I find flaws in your argument? You can let go of the Ad Hominem; I see no value in such fallacy.

I replied to your first two posts because the way you put it sounded exactly like: "I did all of it solo to avoid wasting time doing instances or grouping and I quit the game because it was boring". You can find a group and do dungeon even if you think the drops are not worth it. You can queue up for battlegrounds on your way too.

Now your last post makes more sense about your opinion. You are looking for a game where leveling (or the journey) is interesting (and long). And I agree leveling in WoW is fast. But to me, fast doesn't mean boring.

First no you where hopeless cause you where assuming that all i want is to reach end-game. Now my first post was a simple tale of my experience back to wow and how easy and fast this was and that i dont like to do useless gears grind.  That all.

Yes you are right, i want a long and interesting journey, for me that one of the point of mmo. Now i didnt say that my 1-60 journey was boring, on the contrary i had a good time but it was way too short and this is what make me quit since the only futur i saw after reaching end-game was grind for gears. I hope this more clear this way.

Blizz intentionally cut it by half bc they wanted players to explore new game content faster. its on the Cata section on Worldofwarcraft.com.  They did it to benefit players.

Yes and I feel the same way. I reactivated my account yesterday only because I want to explore the new content... And I'm not looking forward for any End Game in WoW. I really hated what they did since WotLK with the aberration of letting you skip 3 tiers of content by farming heroics :/

Since you are so good at doing research, why don't go and show the real blizzard post saying that it was the fastest selling PC game of all time. So Blizzard weren't lying, and they didn't say it was the fastest selling video game (like CoD which is a multi platformer)

And its not just the fastest selling MMO, its the fastest selling PC game. But instead of correcting the mod who made the error, lets just bash blizzard on something they didn't say. :)

    {Mod Edit} I was responding to the article on this site not the Blizzard article. {Mod Edit} . That is great Blizzard can boast that they are the  fastest selling PC game, when consoles out sell PC games. {Mod Edit}
