Reakktor created Neocron in 2001
In 2005 they decided to sell a patch as an expantion.
Since then it's all downhill.
False advertising (completely rebalanced, new content)
Gestapo Moderation (Nick Milner) (everyone is banned)
They let neocron Rot and die on purpose, they lie to the community in each announcement they make.
I simply warn you guys not to give money to these folks, they will end up screwing you up one way or another.
It's f2p, so just play it, but please think before you give them money, you might regret it deeply.

The "new breed" of MMO players. The loot-whores. The I-wants. The "Oh shiney!"
Cool story bro.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

The responses and accompanying pics aren't bad. The WOW forums do it better though.

The funniest part? He's right.
-Letting Derek Smart work on your game is like letting Osama bin Laden work in the White House. Something will burn.-
-And on the 8th day, man created God.-
I suppose . I do love how he posted a pic too, though. o.0

Neocron was a great game.It had a lot of potential and yes Reckktor did a poor job with the "expantion" and even with there own account system and making the game available. But I also think that they may have learned from the past and if memory server neocron is still up and running and people still play.
Yeah, it's up and running. You can't make new accounts and the same twenty diehards are in there twiddling their thumbs in a dead game. Good job.

Neocron 1 was a great game, best MMO i've had the pleasure to enjoy.
I just hope they'd made a similar game instead of a space-sim-shooter....
I hope the company changes attitude for this game.
The Droner was the best and funnest class I've ever played in an MMO period. To bad I have very low hopes after signing with gamigo.
Box it in select markets, steam, d2d, and digital download from yourself. Instead you might as well kill it now.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Fair warnings, but, if you play the game for free, how do you expect them to keep the game running?
Without money, I guarantee they will end up screwing you, because they won't cover operational costs.
Even as it is going to be a F2P game it has some interesting gameplay. That will keep people both ocupied and most probably willing to support them for continue their development for atleast a year or two.
Their patches and server tweeks show good promise aswell or so ive heard. I know rumors Is not much to go for and fact is.
Will reply when Ive done more research and eye-to-eye contact with the game and its development process.

In features, years ahead of the competition (player housing with buyable/movable furniture, vehicles, pretty good crafting system...).
In terms of game atmosphere, pretty good.
In terms of implementation, terrible. Between way too much lag and bugs that went unfixed for many months, the quality of the game hit rock bottom and started to dig. The sloppy expansion, where many quests were obviously not adapted to the new locations, just topped it off.
I played it for 14 months and then gave up because the shortcomings were too annnoying. But with more competent software development, I still think Neocron could have been a major success.
Edit:
Based on my experience with Reakktor, I would not recommend buying a 50 Euro box of Black Prophecy. But as a F2P game, there is no risk in giving it a try.
Ya know menudo is actually the very "best" breakfast to eat when you are hung over... the tripe is wonderful for absorbing lots of alchohol. And THAT bowl looks like its got lots of meat in it as well. Makes me hungry!
Oh and to "stay on topic"... I'm just not sure about Reakktor. I was originally interested in Neocron, but never played it. Now I might give Black Prophecy a try. But, generally speaking, I don't go for F2P games.
