I installed the beta on my PS3 and everything, but once I boot it up it's asking for a code that's on the inside of the game box (obviously I don't have one).. I put in the beta key and it says it's wrong.. did anyone else get this screen before any sort of main menu?

Well I deleted it so that I could try re-installing it, cuz hey, I have no other options, and now it won't let me re-install because my code key is wrong or has already been used. Great job guys!
Before any sort of main menu? Not that I recall. I wasn't really paying much attention but I don't remember anything asking for one. I put in the key, opened the game, the terms or w/e popped up, I accepted them. Then I'm pretty sure it just automatically started downloading the game itself. I'm waiting for it to install right now. About 1-2 hours left.

Trying it as I type, was able to use the beta key and download/install without any issues, just have to wait for updates now.
When did your issue occur, during or after doing all of that?
edit: nvm that was answered in your first sentence lol, i'll check back once the updating finishes (roughly 2hrs zzz) and let you know what happens.
Your key should be attached to your SOE station account so you shouldn't have to use another one. Once you download the game everything goes through your station ID. Make sure you're using the correct ID that has the key on it.
Hm, mmorpg's instructions mention nothing about using a SOE station ID, we'll need to sign up there to play it on the ps3 too?
Usually for most betas I have participated in you have to create an account with the company that is in charge of the game like SOE or Turbine, NCSoft so on and so forth. You will then use the code and activate it on the company site for the game. Otherwise how will you log in surely you have to have a login and password .You cannot use the activation code each time to log in. It is therefore logical that the activation is at the company site for the game. Try that.
Honestly, I have no idea what happened. I got a new beta key and it worked this time, and the game is installing right now (2hrs to go). The weird thing is that my first key code didn't even get me to the installation stage, it asked for that game code key immediately after the beta booted up.
