I was lucky enough to grab a PC beta key and then got into the beta for the ps3 as a plus member. I have been bouncing back and forth between them both, and the only problem i have now is deciding which system i am going to buy it for.
Not withstanding a few minor " beta " issues For me this game is the most fun I have had in an MMO since I first logged into UO. No I am not comparing it in any way shape or form to UO, but the feeling, the fun, the excitement this game is giving me can only be compared to the day i popped my cherry in graphical online gaming.
So yep, my problem is deciding the platform, would be nice if the PC/PS3 players played on the same server, then i could just get both.
if ya haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it

Sounds very promising and like SoE still knows how to make good games. SoE is only scary because of the things they do to games.....LATER. So I might have to wait a while on this one, but you definitely make it sound tempting.
Oh....and I'm borrowing your quote over there on the left under your avatar. =D

Grab a key and get in, you won't be disappointed.
If they improve the PS3 edition's res beyond 720p then flip a coin. Otherwise stick with the PC.
Does anyone know if Sony have unofficial forums for DCUO ?
I ll tell you which problem I have with this game: It's SOE.
I sweared I would never ever play anything remotely connected to SOE and God knows I won't.
You know, I felt EXACTLY this way when I first heard about DCUO... but later I was accepted into the beta and holy shit, the game is awesome. I also check on the forums every now and then and surprisingly the devs are extremely active and are constantly asking and answering questions as well as keeping the community well informing. When I noticed the amount of dev activity on the forum, I really didn't think it was SOE at first because that's not like them.
As much as SOE has done in the past, I think I'm going to give DCUO and SOE a[nother] chance.
To be honest, I have never understood why people as questions like this: "should I get the console or PC version?"
In almost ever scenario, if a game is released on both the PC and a console, the better option will always be the PC - period. You get so much more from a PC experience than you do a console if your computer is even remotely modern.
Graphically, the PC will be better.
Functionally, the PC will be better.
Account Management, the PC will be better.
Connectivity, the PC will be better.
Community, the PC will be better.
Control, the PC will be better.
Communication, the PC will be bettter.
Performance - it depends. As with the case of something like GTA IV, this is a rare example of how a game can be worse in every way on the PC. But, the reason behind that was that it was never designed to interface with a PC in the first place - it was an afterthought, and so was never optimized properly. But I digress...
Now, this rule of thumb doesn't exactly translate for a console game that was later ported to the PC. Games that were designed to be on a console almost never port to the PC in such a way that captivates the original's glamor.
My advice to anyone contemplating this - if you have the option of either PC or Console - do yourself a favor and just play on the PC. Unless your computer can't really handle it well for whatever reasons, then the PC will be the better buy. Plus, the box is cheaper.
what do they do to games....later. im really curious
No, for if Sony's name was attached to it, they would be official. It has to be outside of Sony to be unofficial.
I suggest necromancing through soe game forums here....post back in a few years after you've read through all the complaints.
That being said, I think the SOE haters are generally a bunch of babies who misplace their hostile energy into a video game company rather than actual injustices.
