big problem plz help

hi i wanted to play ao and just test it for a month until i buy the original and the expansions. now i made this free acc for testing. i downloaded all patches and actually everything works. i can start the game. i select the race, customize my character and give it a profession. then it comes to the naming room and i type in the name and press finish. i hear this beep sound but nothing happens. i tried it again and again. restared my compter. but it doesnt work. PLZ HELP ME. i am anxious to try ao but if the bugging starts right there i will have to think twice....

i am not that stupid. just nothing happened. i turned off my firewall then it worked. this is strange since i permitted all data transfers from any ana on. hm.
now that i am playing i have another problem. k i found out about the basics really fast. (combat, equip, skills etc....) the problem is the lagging: i really turned down all the graphics and the distances etc but it is still lagging. how can that be? k my computer is not the best: athlon 1 gherz 512 ram gforce 2 but this game came out 1999 and i really turned down all details and stuff. lienage 2 worked fine on my pc but higher graphic configs. so what is the problem???
i think then they shouldnt have so many people on one server. this lagging can ruin the fun of the game and when i get the expansions i dont want ao to be laggy all time. by the way: i am in a hunting place: right after the shuttle with the snakes etc and there it is lagging....
Yea, Noob island is a good place to start, and hunting all the bosses till about lvl 10-12. Also a good way to make money is get a high enough lvl on noob island, and kill the scouts, and then they will drop Kyorzch stuff and if you dont have Alien Invasion Expansion pack, then you can't use them. But other people will pay good money for them, and you get like 10mil easyily becuase they can sell for up to 600k. Also, the Subway is a good place to start out when you are a noob, and once you get lvl 26 and you ant go back in anymore, I suggest missions until the mid to high 30's. Then go to ToTW. I giant maze of Cultists and bosses waiting to kill you and laying waste to anything in their path, becuase damn, they aggro like nuttin else. After lvl 60 you cant go into ToTW anymore, but try and stay in it past lvl 60 to as long as you can. Then I suggest for good loot and money, The Cyborg place to the East or West of ToTW, not really sure. After that. Do more missions for Misson only loot and work on ur tradeskills and after all that do whatever you want.

BIG PROBLEM AGAIN:
after i turned down my graphic now i dont see any menus or texts anymore. they are just gone also the chat window is empty. i turned the graphics up again but the text in the whole game is gone. does anyone of u know freecap? these programs u use to speed ur connection. i tried it with ao since my provider has probs at the moment but it doesnt work. the game crahes every time. does anyone know what the problem of both sources might be? this is important since i cant play anymore...
